Green and Pimpton must’ve passed him up.

Kelly has openly spoken about how impressive Green has been so far.

Pimpton has gotten a lot of camp buzz as well

If I looked around my position group room and saw the freaks of nature within it, I’d see the writing on the wall too I guess

Taylor got lost in the shuffle a bit last year with Daniels, but it seems the 2 bowl games Nuss has played he's one of his favorite targets.

It's a stacked group.

He serves a very different purpose than Pimpton/Green and was seemingly going to play a valuable role in the run game.

Trey Dez green was the new toy.

More snaps for pimpton.

Honestly Mac mark way wasn't anything special imo.

Nah, he got passed up. He's a blocking TE. Guarantee he'd pretty much only get significant snaps during short-yardage situations. Green and Pimpton are too talented.

Well either he or the coaches disagreed with this assessment.

Link? We have no idea why he left the team, and getting passed on the depth chart being the reason would make little sense given he can't transfer anywhere else right now.

Thats what I was thinking. He has to sit out and cant transfer. He also has to sit out of school to stop the clock from running as well. So basically you burn a year like a redshirt. Very odd timing. So must be something else cause he wouldve gotten playing time in this offense.

Check out this speech from BK. I’m sure these guys have their reasons, but good to see it’s been a tough camp. Gotta have guys who are committed

you also have to realize the asst coach that knew him was fired in the defensive purge

Obviously we are all speculating here, but if he was planning on being a big part of the offense this year, chances are he wouldn’t be leaving a few weeks before the start of the season, barring some non football reason for not playing, which nothing has been indicated as such

No, he's literally not. They just split the team into the two practice fields recently. He was assigned to the 3's,4's,5's field.

Interesting note - we took 4 TEs in the 2023 class and 3 of them are gone after 1 season

Taylor is the only other capable in-line TE.

With the way the limits work nowadays, I kind of feel like this will be the norm across all position groups. Load up on freshmen, separate the wheat from the chaff at every inflection point (spring, summer, etc), and load back up the next year with 40 more lottery tickets.

I wouldn’t say that.
Givanni Peterson may step in as a blocking TE. I wouldn’t count out Pimpton as a capable blocker either
