For all I care, Rantz could talk over the game about anything.

The guy has busted his arse for many years to get LSU baseball on TV.

This is very true. 10 to 15 years ago there was nowhere to watch any college baseball on tv and Rantz went out and sold LSU baseball to the advertisers and was able to get LSU baseball out to the fans all across the south. Rantz used to get all the regional games on tv. He deserves a lot of credit for what he has done.

It's baseball. Lot of dead time so you have to fill it with something. Could be like Dizzy Dean, drinking Falstaff and singing the Wabash Cannonball. Yes I'm old.

Lyn needs to be replaced
I don't mind the analysis Rantz and McDonald bring but Rollins gets all over the map at times and I think Rantz and McDonald egg him on to f with him.

Preface by saying I'm older but I like Lyn, Ronnie, and Ben. I guess I'm just not as critical as some.

Well rantz was talking about a stew that his mother or in law or something cooked that had breast, thighs, and chicken feet and how he had to dig past the feet to get the good meat. I agree tho it is more Rollins than Rantz, Rantz and Ben arent bad but i do also agree on them egging Rollins on and making him sound like a bafoon

There is a reason why Ben is used by ESPN for its in house analysis for collegiate baseball. He knows his stuff & can get technical yet say it in a way we all understand his point. I like his laid back approach as well. Rantz is Rantz, good & bad moments, but Rollins is a Dizzy Dean wantabe, i.e. good ol'country boy bumpkin. His HR calls are beyond the realm & have been old for years now.

I agree. Really like Ben. Don't know him personally but I wish he had more of a role with the LSU baseball program.

He's terrible.
Tries way too hard.
He's tried to make that "pucker up" his signature line and it just sounds stupid.
"The sky is the color of .... blah, blah, blah
Babbles incessantly with useless Wikipedia facts about opposing school.
In general, talks too much, to the point of using 4 syllables when 1 is more succinct and to the point. Eg. The last pitch wasn't "high" ; it was "elevated".

Pronounces L S U : L S Schhhuuuu

I can't stand Rollins. It must be awful to have to work with him.

Rantz is a gross slob. For some reason I was watching Sportz Shortz or whatever that show is that he pays for to talk about sports for an hour on Monday nights, and he was doing an incredibly offensive racist impression of the Jaguars owner. I don't know how they still allowed him to buy airtime on that network after that.

I'm in my 30s and like them myself.

I grew up with Hawk Harrelson, Tom Paciorek and Darrin Jackson calling White Sox games, so maybe I'm just not bothered by dumb catchphrases and bizarre discussions.

Vin Scully was the best and I've even heard him go off on tangents about chocolate chip cookies, beards and Alexander the Great. Silliness happens during baseball broadcasts everywhere.

If you did a drinking game on how many times during their broadcast it is mentioned that RR played for LSU, you would get very drunk
