Maybe. Or maybe the truth comes out and your name is cleared.
I mean to believe his story you have to except the idea that this girls mother was able to brainwash her into believing her cousin was molesting her and coach her to respond to questioning without making any mistakes or inconsistencies while going into significant detail. In addition to his own brother questioning the girl and coming to the conclusion that he didn’t want to have contact with his brother and was ok with him being a convicted child molester.
Vs
Someone who admitted to being a molester actually commited the crime
Which is more likely? Occam’s razor man

From the Oregonian story:

n May 2012, Luke's sexual history was obtained via clinical interview and a sexual history polygraph conducted by Rick Minnich, chief examiner of Minnich Polygraph Services of Burien, Washington.
Minnich was prohibited from asking any question directly related to Luke's niece.

People act like the mother created all this.
His brother hasn’t spoken to him since, wants nothing to do with him, and the divorce was already over.
This ain’t a crazy mom doing insane shite to get custody type of situation.

I think it's very telling that the ex wife didn't get custody of her kids. She's obviously a pos.
It's amazing how you could completely fabricate something and pass it off as fact.

Y’all think he wrote those words?
You don’t think someone else wrote them and he signed the paper as a part of the plea?
What do you think it took for the prosecutor to nix the girl taking the stand? It was their only evidence. Possibly a bomb, that the defense wouldn’t be able to recover from...since there was no other evidence to prove his guilt or innocence.
I would imagine he had to admit to whatever they wrote in the guilty plea.
Maybe I’m wrong, wouldn’t be the first time, won’t be the last.
It just seems like we’re all assuming.
Maybe the girl will speak one day when she’s mature and bury him for good or clear his name. You know she’s going to say something one day.

Well his brother did attend one of his games so that can’t be completely true. Why would he go? Is he even a OSU fan? Isn’t he from a Washington?
Said he went and saw him pitch.

You would think if your brother molested your daughter you wouldn’t go watch him pitch, right?

If he was innocent why wouldn’t his brother try to clear his name?

The deputy prosecuting attorney on Heimlich's case, John Neeb, can't speak about a case that has been sealed.
Speaking generally, Neeb told The Oregonian/OregonLive that he files charges only in cases "that I believe I can prove at trial."
quote:
Neeb said juveniles who plead guilty detail their offense in writing. A judge also typically asks the juvenile to verbally acknowledge the crime at the time of a plea.
"If a person who pled guilty says they're innocent," Neeb said generally, "then they're saying they lied to the judge at the time they entered their plea."
quote:
Court records previously obtained by The Oregonian/OregonLive show Heimlich, when asked to state in his own words what he did that makes him guilty of the crime, wrote: "I admit that I had sexual contact" with the family member.

For all of you idiots trying to make excuses for this POS, why don't you and the wife (husband maybe) go take a long Summer trip overseas, but you must leave your 4 year old daughter with him to take care of her. You should have no problem with that whatsoever right? You trust him don't you?
In general... those people probably don’t have children. Harder for them to appreciate the very dim view parents will have about that type of crime and it’s impact on the lives of the victims.

Bunch of wannabe courtroom heroes in here!
Let me tell you this, IF YOU were up on charges, any charges, and you were offered a deal of no jail time compared to jail time, you'd take it.
But, I get it, it's easy to say you wouldn't here on a message board. We'll all good looking studs with supermodel hot wives that love us for more than our million dollar salaries.
But in the real world, some times taking a bad deal is better than the risk of not taking it.
And I'll you this, for all of you that find it so easy to condemn this guy for life, if it was you, or anyone you care about, you'd be completely on the other side of it - demanding the guy has paid his debt to society.
But, again, I get it. It's all easy here on a message board.

I’m with you. I’m still waiting for evidence.
I think the majority of the people here don’t understand how a plea deal works.

Mmmmk. Please don't call my firm. It looks bad when potentially innocent clients go to prison.
