What freshman coming from the 2011 class do you think will see alot of playing time during the season and maybe will even start?

Lael Collins
Jarvis Landry
Odell Backham
Anthony Johnson

Recently i heard alot of good things about Odell Beckham Jr. and how he is in really good shape and he is trying to compete at WR playing time with jarvis landry.
Just ur thoughts.. thanks

My guess is that Collins redshirts. Collins is really good, but he doesn't have to play, so let him get a year to build up physically and learn the system.

I think Landry gets some PT. He's just that good. He will have to compete with Boone, Wright and Williams for PT though.

OBJ is one of my favorite prospects for last year. However I think everyone has said he was going to take a while to develop. He's going to be a really good one for us.

Freak Johnson will likely get the most PT of any true freshman.

Don't be surprised to see David Jenkins get some PT at nickle or dime if we have some injuries. He's going to be a good one as well. I'd like to see him redshirt though so he can be a two year starter for us.

A lot of people think Magee could play this year, but I'm not so sure. There is a lot of depth in front of him and he's similar to Gore, so I see Gore getting the nod over Magee.

T. Randle may get some ST PT or time at LBer if there are injuries. He doesn't need to redshirt because we are thin at LBer and we have about four LBers coming in next year. That's probably one of the few positions we don't need to reshirt players at this year.

Of course, all this is IMO/IMHO.

Thats a good list, but you have to add Micah Eugene. This kid will be the Tyrann of last year. The other kids to watch will probably be Paul Turner, David Jenkins(Rivals #1 cover corner), and Jalen Collins. One of those last three might see the field if there's an injury at corner.

Coach Chavis stated recently that Freak Anthony Johnson showed up and physically was a 3rd year player, but listed as a True Freshman. He will wreck havoc.

I think they are the only 2 that won't redshirt. Maybe Randle and MJ as well. The others aren't needed this year. Eugene is a Mathieu clone in the blitz package, but there is no need for him since Mathieu will fill that role. Simon will play outside and Mathieu will continue his wreak havoc role.

Everyone will say, "We played X amount of freshmen last year. We will see a ton this year as well." That's just not the case imo. True, a ton of freshmen played last year. Obviously they all return so the need for the guys coming in simply isn't there.

One of the corners will get time. Claiborne is likely declaring this year, and you don't want a rookie starting at corner in 2012. Micah doesn't have the hips, he's a Nickel/lb/Safety. So, expect Jenkins,Turner, and Collins to compete. All of those guys are going to be good, but I have to give Turner the edge, because he's just physically ready, while the others need to hit the weights.

No

Really think he'll redshirt this year. He played a handful of plays at safety at WM, but that's it. He was the Defensive MVP of the 7 on 7 National Championships at Hoover, but actual games he was the QB.

In the backfield, you'll probably see Kenny Hilliard in short yardage situations.

At receiver you'll see Landry and ODBJ.

You will probably see Collins in a backup role at LT.

You'll see Johnson at little more at DT. You might see Rasco at DE (might is the key word, there).

You might see Trevon Randle at LB (another big if).

You will probably see Jenkins at CB in a backup role.

You will see Micah Eugene as a utility player on D.

Thats just a hunch, nothing else. Kid is electric, but more importantly has had a good weight program, and Jenkins/Collins need some weight/strength in the SEC. I think you'll see turner follow the plans of Claiborne, get a look at WR/CB, and then be moved to corner. I'd like to see him on Offense, but with Odell tearing it up, I see him on Defense. Last years class, aside from LB, is just sick.

Turner is a natural safety on D, IMHO. I don't think he will play corner. I could be wrong.

I think his biggest impact at LSU will be as a return man if given the opportunity. Kid is slippery. I never saw him take a big hit while at WM. His injuries came from getting rolled up at the end of the line while running the option.

Kid has a about a 4 flat shuttle. They will find a place for him. I just think he has the build to see the field, next year. We shall see.
