Coaches say they wanted to use Gore last year but he got hurt so they decided it was better to redshirt him.

Frank didn't play much either because he was behind guys named McGahee and Portis.

Gore will be that Trindon Holliday type back and I think he plays that spot this year while Shep plays WR only. I think Ware starts and gets spelled by Ford and sometimes Blue. I could see Hilliard getting carries, but I think he only carries the ball 10-12 times this year and people will bitch and ask why we burned his redshirt. This isn't to mention that we will likely RS Magee and have Bourque coming in next year. Then in two years people are going to ask why Leonard Fournette isn't getting more carries or if he will redshirt or not.

I still think KH has a good chance of playing some FB like CS did when he and KW were in the backfield together.

What did Gore do to impress anyone? All I've seen of
him is the spring game, and nothing special stood out to me.

I thought he was very impressive. Fast hitting holes, really quick cuts, and decisive.

As far as Ford and Blue getting PT last year while he redshirted, he may have just needed more time to physically mature to be ready. That doesn't mean his skill set cannot surpass those two.
