Was an ambidextrous thrower in 11-12’s

Tom glavine threw 93/94 for a little bit.

I believe his fastball went all the way down to 83/83 consistently towards the later part of his career.

again...1 off exception to the rule that is a Hall of Famer that played during an era where the strikezone was bigger than a current HS strikezone.

he would get shelled today after the first time through the line up

Has this been a growing trend of college pitchers being able to throw harder, than they were 10 years ago?

I’m not sure why no one talks about this but the radar gun tech has changed and it’s inflating velocities by 3-4 MPH or more in comparison to last-gen radar guns. You don’t suddenly have a bunch of college freshmen legitimately throwing as hard as peak juiced up Roger Clemens

No one talks about it because the change happened so long ago that it's irrelevant to keep mentioning.

I was honestly wondering if this is something that has happened. Or if ballparks are just inflating the numbers.

The major velocity jump happened when trackman became popular. That wasn’t “so long ago”. There was a jump in the late 80’s, late 90’s, and late 2010’s when the standard went from Jugs to Stalker to Trackman

Yes. I'm delusional because I acknowledge that 30-35 years of advances on weight training, baseball specific training, and financial incentive to train for velocity has increased the number of hard throwers since Roger Clemens physical peak.

It's definitely just the machines. The machines are causing the surgeries too.

How do you explain Nolan Ryan throwing 106mph on the last pitch of his career at 46yo?

It was also his 173rd pitch of the game, something he did on a nightly basis.

Those new guns are awesome! Serious arm speed on this team.
