They have a shite ton of untested talent, just like LSU. I would take the home team, with a very solid 4-yr starting QB, in this early season test every time.

Yet those guys couldn't beat out the starters in front of them who were giving up a shite ton of yards against the run. So they probably won't be much better. Maybe even worse.

They lost more talent than we did. Plus we had more younger players who got significant playing time..

You mean the DBs who played a shitload last year?

Mills, Collins, Eugene and Thompson all played significant minutes last year, and not just in mop up duty.

Poppa will have his boys ready.

We already met this type in Trent Richardson or Eddie Lacy. Gurley is no different from them in terms of speed and size.

Exactly. I get it is hypothetical. I just don't get the gloating over guys that haven't done anything yet. What if they come out with stone hands and the inability to separate?

I project they won't and they will.

It is my projection in this projection thread

I'm just jaded with the receivers. Ever since 2006 "This years receivers" are supposed to be amazing. We've had a few bright spots, and we've put some guys in the league. I just haven't been blown away by their overall performance.

Zach will play his best game to date here. This one will be personal for Zach because the current coach kicked him off their team.

I can't wait! Zach will play with a chip on his shoulder.

Valid argument LSU plays a ton of secondary players and Georgia for whatever reason doesn't seem to play younger players as evidenced in the sec cg, because their defense was gassed at the end.

Not a valid argument as every year e very team including LSU fans say that whatever said weakness was they have better talent behind it. LSU isn't the only team that has talented players that don't beat out 9 players drAfted to the NFL.
This may be the best sec matchup of the year and I am actually excited to see this matchup. Florida will not challenge LSU and should have not challenged them last year with their offense.

"We"? Gurley is faster than both Lacy and Richardson. If he has packed on 25+ lbs as rumors claim he may have lost some top end, but the guy is definitely an elite RB on a national scale. I don't have a strong opinion on who will win the game, but LSU will need to be drastically better at scoring TDs in the red zone than they were last year to have a real shot.

And for those saying UGA D players didn't get any reps, UGA had a lot of starters suspended and hurt during last season, it's not like the 2's didn't get playing time. The starters on D often didn't play up to their ability until the UF game. Losing their 2 massive nose guards and 2 extremely talented LBs doesn't help but they have plenty of talent including a big JUCO transfer on DL. 33 signed commitments in 2013, Grantham will have a lot of challenge evaluating new guys and if they are ready to help.

I don't wear P&G blinders, this season is going to be a challenge and hopefully will entail less injuries to key players than last season.

Young secondary? Maybe in terms of age, but def not experience. How can you make that claim?

They lost 3 starting backers, not 2, both starting safeties, and a starting corner.

Third guy was not ever mentioned in the same breath as Ogletree nor Jones regarding talent level, those are the big losses as well as two of the DBs and the interior guys. Why don't we call it 12 guys who started games last year as that's what they lost on D. Richt voted them #5 in the recent poll, we'll see if he knows what he has or doesn't soon enough.
