The purple armpit patch and the purple collar are horrendous. WTF? Is there any reason for that other than to make it look like shite? And the striped helmet. I wonder if the Cincinnati Bengals (who have the worst helmets in the NFL) have ever thought of that. 
I hate the whole idea of this pro-combat crap. It puts the Nike marketing plan and their "style" above LSU's football tradition. If we want to wear white helmets or purple pants once in a while: Fine. But a team who has won 2 N.C.'s recently doesn't need a uniform makeover. Let's leave that to Oregon, Maryland, and the like.
And get off my lawn!

Agreed. They're a nice nod to our traditional uniforms, unlike most of these Nike Pro Combat abominations. I agree another poster that I'd rather a gold helmet, though.

just realized that the sticker where the "U" is covers half the vent hole on the helmet...I wish that LSU would just ask the helmet maker to modify the design of the helmet to accommodate the sticker...

I think that would be a big deal, b/c those helmets have some serious engineering behind them. I'm pretty sure the hole isn't just an air vent - it plays a role in structural integrity. Moving it would likely effect the performance of the helmet.

That did it! I will never again buy anything made by Nike.
OK. I can handle the white jersey and pants – barely.
However:
1st. You never screw with the helmet color because it is not the color that your quarterbacks have practiced with and will cause a slight hesitancy. Bama changed their defensive backs helmet colors to match M.S. in one game back in the early 60’s and it caused enough concern that the NCAA immediately ruled that all players on each team must wear the same helmet color.
2nd. Who the hell approved of those Tinker Bell fairy shoes? Those things should only be worn by third world pimps and certain social activist groups.

I love LSU's tradition, everything about it. So don't get me wrong. But a cool change like this from Nike is nice once in a while. Also: its once every two years, just appreciate it.
I'm sure the players love playing in state-of-the-art uniforms, too.

also i hate the purple arm pit stain.
i wonder if the helmet logo will be painted on instead of that awkward looking sticker.
im on an old computer at work and cant tell that there is bengal stripes on the helmet.
im a fan, i like the overall concept of them.
