Having an established third starter I have no problem going Johnny Wholestaff on mid week games. Last year you didn't have a 3rd starter so not using the midweek to find one was a mistake. I want my three starters then the best of the rest as my bullpen for the weekends. I am not ok with burning one of those guys in a meaningless mid week game against an in state school. As he has it now the relievers are getting the bullpen work they would be doing on said day anyway against live batters.

I didn't post in this thread until today. Never said Valek wouldn't be good. And wasn't a part of the original group in here who disputed the prediction. Tad predicted this when we had 2 other likely starters ahead of him. PM even said over the summer that he was hoping a power guy would overtake Poche for the Saturday job. You think he meant Valek? he was talking about Godfrey and Latz. Did tad end up right? Only partly. He's starting but not Saturdays. This is the epitome of the blind squirrel finding a nut... Well, half a nut.
