They’ve expanded the stadium where it’s too big….
But the problem would be the same.. all the corporate tic and rich people who can afford to pony up the $$ aren’t the real fans who will stay … they go to “be seen” and let everyone know they are there, then leave before halftime.
And campus atmosphere sucks…. Hood rats (white and black!) everywhere ..

As someone who has traveled to other SEC venues I heavily disagree with this lol. LSU's traffic situations is much worse than the average.

I left at the end last night and traffic was abysmal. All big time programs have sold their souls to TV. The games are too long and commercial breaks really impact the flow of the games. I sit on the east side lower and couldn’t believe how empty the west side-and ours as well- were at halftime in such a close game.

Yep.but we don’t pretend to be the Mecca of college Football, “iconic” (boring” jerseys, etc…

It's far greater than this. Things like LSU making it worse to tailgate consistently every year, the horrible traffic situation, viability of HD TV, media, etc. all contributes to this too. Don't undersell environment as a big factor. BR ain't the same location it was 40 years ago.
agree with all, it’s a combination of a lot of things, but being “spoiled” is not one of them, BK is an underachieving, overpaid, spoiled a-hole for that comment, 4 football championships in what, 132 years of football is being spoiled? he needs to shut the frick up and do what he’s overpaid to do

But I’m not this big diehard Tiger
Fans as everyone leaving at half time say they are…

To beat the traffic, I leave after the coin toss and just before the kick off. I do run into a little foot traffic with fools going to their seats.
I sprint out the stadium and all the way to my car, carrying my kids, while berating the wife (no pic) for not being able to keep up.
There is smooth sailing once I get out of the parking lot, 409.
I'm home for half time.

I go to every game, but I do question myself if I want to continue. The tv experience continues to get better, while in person gets worse in all aspects. It’s not just TS, but campus is absolutely ghetto now.
TV product sucks too now. I put up 4 games on YouTube Tv and they are all in sync with commercials 90% of the games.
Money has ruined what used to be a sport ruled by passion.

Not true. Plenty of empty seats during most home games in both 2019 and 2023.
Fact of the matter is, it stays full in only one or two games a year where it's ALL of...
- a game against a highly-ranked opponent
- a close score
- perfect weather
LSU fans are spoiled and soft, and have been for years.

It's over , bro.
Shootings, gangstas, 7 pt games, half empty stands, nil, portal, weed smoking thugs, no running water, horrific concessions, traffic jams. Not a bright future. We're on a slippery slope to hell.

frick entertainment. This spoiled, fricking soft as baby shite “fanbase.”
I remember my family came to the State game my senior year in 96. It was sunny when we got to the stadium, but storms rolled in later and it poured the entire second half. Monsoon poured. The field was in such bad shape after the game they had to re-sod it over the bye week after.
My now MIL and Mom had to pry my Dad out of that stadium in the 4th quarter. We won, but I don’t think there were many if any points in the second half because of the conditions. It didn’t matter. He was there to watch our team.
Maybe this comes from my time in TGBFTL. It didn’t matter how bad the team sucked or how hard it rained- we put the raincoats on and kept playing. I’ll never understand the softies that bail at the first sign of adversity or change the channel because the team isn’t a fun watch. You can’t get more casual as a fan than that.

My theory;
1) tailgating had become an all day event. By halftime many are too tired to stay longer. Their buzz is wearing off and they feel bad.
2) corporate interests have taken more and more tickets.
3) TV has dramatically lengthened games and made them too long, and now with all the replays it’s even worse.
4) traffic and parking. Parking is getting tougher and tougher to get. People park farther and farther away from the stadium. People feel the need to beat the traffic because of the long walk to the car and the issues getting out. Tiger Stadium before the modern expansions held about 68,000 fans. Now it holds over 100K. Tailgating was not big thing. 10-20,000 didn’t come out just to tailgate.
There was more lots closer to the stadium. Aldo there have been no traffic improvements, only Burbank is a new artery. Nicholson South, Dalrymple, and Highland are still all two land streets.
5) HD big screen TVs

I have too, as well as Clemson this year. Been to Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida State, etc and they are all just as bad. LSU is NO worse. The traffic is bad because we’re next to a big river narrative is tiresome.
