If they had just banned the song without raising a stink no one would have noticed.

Just put security cameras on poles pointing at the section......Like in a store, just the threat of them being there will curtail alot of this crap, imo
I could care less. But my kids have every bit of right to be in that stadium. And I protect my kids at all times from people around them yelling stupid childish (premeditated) profanity.

You aren't nearly as interested in your kids not hearing profanity as you are in using the fact that you have children as an excuse to hide behind your own piety and try to make us believe that you are actually protecting them from something rather than simply policing others' languages.

College student section chants are not preventing you from having fun at football games, and they aren't harming your kids. Get that bullshite outta here.

I'm confused, is there a rule that you agree to when buying tickets that doesn't allow you to use obscenities? Are there signs inside that I've never seen that prohibit cussing?
From the fan guide and lsusports.net:
quote:
Sportsmanship
LSU encourages its fans to show good sportsmanship and conduct themselves in a manner that represents LSU, the Southeastern Conference and the NCAA with honor, dignity and respect. LSU strongly recommends that fans:
• Demonstrate the qualities of civility and sportsmanship at all times.
• Refrain from the use of vulgar, abusive, racist, sexist, demeaning or intimidating language at any time.
• Support the players, coaches and officials in a positive manner.
• Treat the visiting team, coaches and fans with courtesy and respect at all times.
• Refrain from engaging in cheers that are vulgar, crass or demeaning.
• Refrain from throwing objects for any reason.
• Avoid becoming inebriated or belligerent.
• Refrain from entering competition/team areas at any time, including after the game.

your one of the morons that yells the chants aren't you. Either an immature drunk or maybe a student. I completely understand what to expect at games. Profanity happens, yes. But idiots yelling the chant to neck with the LSU band playing the song, gives off the appearance that the university supports the classless punks yelling the chant. only a complete bumbling low life would DEFEND the chant or try to condemn LSUs actions to try to clean it up.
I've said nothinga about other activities, drinking etc, but the neck chant is the dumbest thing I've ever heard done repeatedly and actually defended by many.
and for you to suggest that I not take my family to an LSU game just so you and your clowns can yell an extremely profane chant, well it sure tells me a ton of your character and also shows a window into what type of parenting you had in your life.

I will heartily second that!

Not directed at anyone in particular...
If they wanted to use video to "expel" students from the stadium, it seems pretty simple.
Begin video'ing in first quarter, review video, should take a about 60 seconds to pick out 10 students, get the cops to go escort those random 10 out, scan their ID's, no more tix.
How many times would they have to do that to be effective?

This has got to be the dumbest controversy in the history of LSU.

Profanity is one thing. Sexually explicit chants are another. Too bad you're so unentertained by the game and life in general that you have to resort to not only those chants, but also putting down anyone who would like to not have to explain "suck dick" to a 7 year old just yet. I've had more fun in that stadium than you ever will, and I've made more noise and pumped the crowd more than you ever will. Learn how to be a football fan or GTFO of the stadium.
There's something called respect for other human beings. You're probably unaware that it exists, as you don't get much of it. You have to earn respect by showing it to others. You can have a shitload of fun without making others uncomfortable or put off. Go to a school and start yelling "suck my dick" and see how fast you get a dick shoved in your mouth in prison. Sex offender list. Why is it suddenly ok in a large stadium with kids around?

I love that the words "You suck" in the OWEO chant are just "too offensive" and obscene...

You're the bad guy here, and you're the reason I say to the students: Never negotiate with terrorists.

quote:"SAH-ah TAH-da-DAH! BEH!" is not sexually explicit. Let's be honest with what we're actually hearing from the student section.

Absolutely horrible point, and get off the high horse with the respect thing. Language policing is one of the most disrespectful, sick, vile, disgusting, piece-of-shite things you can do, so you have no moral ground on which to stand.

When are they going to start videotaping and kicking out those that don't wash their hands after taking a shite?

What a big waste of time and resources.
