How much longer do you think Nikki Fargas has a job? 65-61 in conference play is almost as abysmal as Jones' 42-48 conf. record.

No one cares. At this point it's just a Title IX black-hole, and I'm OK with that. It's a necessary evil.
The alternative is to hire a Southland/Sun Belt coach for cheap and just be happy sucking.

All it's ever been at EVERY school is title IX bs. Anybody think I'm wrong? Administer some truth serum to any vol fan and ask them if they would trade EVERY win in the lesbian vols history in exchange for beating bama last year in football. It's obvious which one they'd pick. Same for the uconn fans. They would donate every single lesbian hoops win they ever had to have beaten Oklahoma in that bcs bowl they faced them in about 10 years back.

Mulkey is retiring at Baylor. That ship has long sailed. Your best bet is to hire an up and coming coach. There are only a handful of elite programs in wbb and they are the same teams every year in the hunt. Half of those teams will be looking for a coach before you know it as some are up in age.

Fargas has made the NCAA tourney in 6 of 8 opportunities at LSU. Jones made it in 1 of 5 opportunities. Obviously she is overpaid, but she's not just blatantly terrible. And her players aren't total shitheads like many of Jones' were.

Better question is why do they have to choose? Why does a school have to automatically sacrifice being good in other sports for the sake of being good in women’s basketball?
Last I checked, LSU had a 5 year final 4 run going while the school was in the midst of winning 2 football national championships, 1 baseball national championship, and a men’s final 4 appearance. Hell, even softball was winning conference championships and making a WCWS appearance during the same time.
I’ll never understand the whole LSU fan mindset of “we only care about football” or “who cares about ‘xyz’ sport as long as we’re good in football.” I want LSU to be good at everything they compete in and there is no reason they can’t as they’ve proven it to be possible before.
