Meh. I always enjoyed seeing Mike go by in his trailer but I could do without this.

1. This isn't even "Mike".

2. Though I'm not a PETA nut, I can see how putting a Tiger in a small enclosure and parading him around a loud stadium could be stressful to the cat. Just so the fans can see a Tiger go by in a trailer. Meh.

This is the mature, intelligent and reasonable reaction to this.

Its the Rant, so i cannot tell...
Mike the Tiger being in his habitat and not on the field is a sign of "moral decline"?

He's being serious. Being concerned about animal welfare is beta/cuck behavior to him. We gotta get back to not giving a damn and doing whatever we want.

PETA protesters plan to peacefully assemble near the entrance. In the unlikely event that they gain access to the premises, a PETA protester may attempt to unlock the tiger cage as a means of demonstrating their perspective.

Schools bring bulls, horses, and dogs on the field every home game, but somehow a freakin TIGER is too sensitive. Do people even realize the absurdity of that argument?

Cows, horses and dogs are the same thing as tigers, after all.

I mean it’s no less absurd than to act like we have somehow hurt a tiger or were morally repugnant by riding him around in a cage just 15 years ago

No, a Tiger is an apex predator, and we’ve had one in the stadium since the 1950’s. It’s only now an issue because PETA made it an issue, and people cower to pressure and then adopt it as an excuse for the cowering.

The fireworks and howitzer is what stopped Roscoe from getting in the trailer.

It has never been a PETA issue. Not once, at any point.

It stopped initially because the previous tiger didn’t want to go due to what we do during pregame now, and will continue indefinitely because of what LSU has chosen to do on its own for its tiger program.

That’s a lie. It most certainly was an issue with PETA complaining prior to.

Sounds good, but there was pressure dating back to well before the eventual reason given why we couldn’t bring this new tiger on the field and abandon tradition.

It's not that extreme. Parading an endangered solitary wild animal around in a loud stressful environment just for our brief amusement isn't necessary. Doesn't mean we are 100% causing harm, but isn't it better to err on the side of caution there? Especially when common sense says that's a stressful environment for that type of animal.

I'm not a giant PETA supporter either but this is so ridiculous - does seeing a tiger get paraded around the field in a trailer for 2 minutes REALLY make the game experience better for anyone?

And LSU ignored it until the previous Mike wouldn’t get in the trailer anymore. He didn’t stop going to games because of PETA

Better than fireworks and a light show, that’s for sure. Not better than a fly over, but definitely better than fireworks and a light show.

Has anyone confirmed this? The State Surgeon General leaked this, and no one else from LSU or the state will confirm?

I hope bringing in a fake mascot doesn't bring us bad luck.

If another team was bringing in a fake mascot, we'd be laughing at them.
