Fri: Hess
Sat: Walker
Sun: Enlow

Edit: I'd like to see Hess on Friday because of how dominating his stuff is. Have the lineup watch as 97mph fastballs are blowing by then.

I think Gilbert could easily be the Sunday guy.

Using returning players only: Hess, Walker, Gilbert.

Whatever the upvote count gets to, add 20. I pressed it at least 20 more times.

I'd like him in the "Hess" role next year. You see how valuable that is. A stopper who can go 3 innings if needed.

If a freshman starts Sunday, our current bullpen would be:

Beck, Peterson, Bush, Reese, Norman, Bain, Gilbert, Frederick

Right but if we don't get Enlow, which I don't see happening, then I think Beck or Peterson could fit nicely in the 3 inning stopper role. allowing Gilbert to take Sunday.

Who cares? It's just a discussion. Are you that distracted by the topic that you had to click on it and post?

We have other really good pitchers coming. I know Hess and Walker could be here another year, but I'd rather have a freshman starting Sundays with Gilbert out of the pen if needed for grooming purposes. Gilbert has been that on/off starter who has shown to be better out of the pen and I'm okay with that. It's an important role.

Some freshman.

That's our best bet. Gilbert seems perfect for that setup/long relief role

Of these, which are transfer candidates? Seems like there's at least one every year recently

Hard to tell, you have to see the newcomers and how they fit in role wise.

If Hess maintains that velocity and you have other capable starters I say leave Hess in the bullpen. If he's 96/97 out of pen next year he will go first round as a draft eligible soph.

Gilbert looks more comfortable in a longer role and I say try him as a starter since he's not as polished coming out of the bullpen.

Walker Gilbert Peterson Hess closing - too good to just be used once a week.
