Is anyone arguing that LSU should be in at this point in the season?

I think what folks are talking about is the hopeful, yet unlikely, scenarios where LSU still could get in the playoffs.

We’re fans. We’re supposed to be excited about our team and not simply give up on our season. We have one loss in the SEC and are in second place in the West. We have a chance to knock off the first place team this Saturday. We’re a four point underdog. Is that embarrassing we’re excited?

Is the talk of the playoffs premature- hell yes! But it’s fun. It’s great to stay excited. I certainly want the coaching staff to convey to the players that the team goals of winning the SEC West and the SEC are still there …and if we win there’s still a path to the playoffs and a national title!!!

I think winning the SEC means something.

I dont think a 2 loss team from any other conference would get in, but SEC still carrie’s some weight to it.

I get that, but it's WAY TOO EARLY to even talk about it. We still have 3 tough games left (and hopefully a 4th against UGA). Maybe if we beat Bama and Florida, then we can start thinking about playoff scenarios.

But there's just far too much football to be played, by teams all over the country, for us to get excited about this.

Beat Bama and FL - then we can talk.

Huh did not know that Stanford had wide receivers

As others have said Ole Miss is what's going to keep us out of our playoffs. Not only did they beat us they embarrassed us. They made our defense a butt of jokes on National telecasts

I just googled “how many 2 loss teams have made the CFP?” And the answer was zero. I also googled “how many teams have lost their opening game and made the CFP?” the answer to that one was zero too. We’re not getting in just worry about the next game.

At this point, I’m 95 percent sure that if were to actually win out we’d be in. That’s with undefeated FSU, Washington and Big 10 champ….over 1 loss UGA, Michigan and B12 champ.

Had we have beaten Ole Miss, I’d say right now we were 100% in by winning out.

So in the end I don’t think it will make a huge difference. Beating Bama, Florida, Ga State, Texas A$M and UGA is what does matter.

Don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but Saban has 2 weeks to prepare for JD & our offense, meanwhile, our defensive backfield is decimated. I do not have a good feeling about the Bama game...just hope I am wrong! No win is near guaranteed this year!

What drives me nuts is that we have swapped places with 2012 TAMU.

They have a strong defense with several stars we wanted but got beat out for (B. Anderson & Cooper) with thir front 7 being their strength and a capable offense that's inconsistent but can be easily game planned for.

We're basically them with Manziel and Evans.

Fact is, neither wins championships.
