LSU vs Vandy keys to victory

1. Hilliard must be able to get through 6 with a lead and hand it over to Coop,Rys, and Gervais.
2. One freshman will have to have a good weekend at the plate for us to win the series.(Pearson,Stevenson or Cranford)
3. We need Berry able to at least pinch hit in big situations.
4. Dugas or Doughty need to play well for us to compete. Hopefully both produce in all 3 games.
5. We need more rally pics in the in game thread.

I'll be happy if these things happen:
- NO walks which leads to a free base runner and extra batters
- 0 errors which has been LSU's Achilles heel all year long

We can't give up many, if any, extra outs. When we give up extra outs, our pitchers throw more pitches, which means less innings each and more pitchers used. It sounds so fundamental but it's been a huge, overlooked reason why our bullpen (staff, in general, really) have been taxed. Clean it up, and you can stay on schedule with your pitching. Sure, we're going to take some licks sometimes without errors, but the staff has shown that they can compete.
Now, if we kick a few, we damn sure better be answering with the bats. In the instances that we kicked balls and were scoring, we could extend the leash a little bit for pitchers. In general, you can gamble with the leash when you're scoring.
Not the time to be blowing arms out. Hit and play defense so our pitchers can stick to the script.

Big stakes. D1 in yesterdays projection has Vanderbilt hosting as a #14 seed and it seems that they have LSU as a high 2 seed.

Agreed. In other news, Corbin isn't starting one of his best lefties this weekend. I know Little is one of the better arms in the nation to replace him with, but seems strange that they wouldn't be salivating at going LH heavy pitching against us.
