I was there...the facemask play should have been blown dead...I don't know how the PAC 8 refs missed TWO USC o-linemen move before the snap of the ball...

saw that immediately, that was horrendous. I am suprised the homer guys calling the game didn't see that but they saw the one on LSU that I failed to see

I was there as well. Loudest I've ever heard that stadium. When they opened the gates, was almost like the Who concert in Cincinatti when the fans were trampled. Crazy game given away on blown calls and dropped pass in north endzone. One of the best USC teams ever that should have gone down.

thanks for the link...your film clearly shows the TWO USC linemen move before the snap of the ball and the facemask play should have never happened...if I remember right that was 3 and 9 and the RIGHT CALL would have put the Trojans back to 3 and 14...

take note on how to run the option.
RIP David Woodley. The ONLY LSU Qb to ever start a SB.

I wasn't fortunate enough to see that one in person but I was listening on KEEL radio in Shreveport. That one devastated me as a young LSU fan.

I went up and tried to find a tkt. 3 hrs before the game nothing for sale. Had to listen on the radio. It was insanely loud outside. I've never had a problem getting a tkt. Before or since.

I was there. Most electric and loud atmosphere in the history of TS. Unbelievable. Walked out of there exhausted myself and I was only 16 at the time.

and the noise and chanting and cheers kept on going even after we lost

LSU vs Bama in 1996 was close, but not as bad

This footage is actually a short compilation of the "USC Version" of the game, which is an incomplete version of the game.
A tape of the complete game (and it's great quality) started floating around a year or so ago - well worth tracking down, believe me.

We will see Tangerine in 3, 2, 1...

I was there. I agree it does not capture the noise we were making. Everybody in my section saw the usc guys movement. We were going nuts screaming at the tops of our lungs. It is a wonder none of us (and we were young) had a heart attach.
WOW what a great great afternoon and night spent at Tiger Stadium. God I loved that place.

The refs also missed a couple of holding calls on LSU on 3rd down conversions on LSU scoring drives.

I have the DVD of the game. Great game and another great win by SC. This time in one of the most hostile environments they've played in.
I listened to the game on WWL. It was so loud and had no idea USC scored the winning TD until after the extra point

thats a weak facemask
not really. His head and upper torso jerked to the side. And yes, the O linemen moved. There is a slow motion link on youtube.
Normal speed
And slow motion
