I would rather play in the fedex forum. Drive another hour and 45 min and get to stay in a real city with a really nice stadium.

I'll be there with my coonass buddy. I'll be wearing OM colors and cheering on LSU.

I go to MSU and Ole Miss so I know how few fans we have at these games.

You go to two schools at once?

Completely false. When I was in school at MSU, we got drunk and went to Tupelo for this:

Cage match, baby!

That sucks, I would rather play in the Fed Ex forum! That building is so awesome!

Both schools are pretty saying "frick You" to Mississippi St and Ole Miss.

Good recruiting tool game imo.

This

It's alright, but it isn't that FedEx Forum. Looks like the game is on Sunday so it's good that the city passed Sunday beer sales.

Also it looks like one end of the court will just have a wall in front of it

The place was designed more for concerts than sports.

Memphis fans will show up because of the #1 class coming in. We are all excited about next season, now. I'm just glad that this is a meaningless regular season game. I grew up in Memphis and I am a lifelong Tiger basketball fan, but I went to LSU. I have never had an issues cheering for both, because they never play each other in football or basketball. If this was a football game, I would just hope Memphis wouldn't get slaughtered. Considering the current state of LSU basketball, that's probably all I can hope for them. With Williams, Witherspoon, Coleman, and Garcia back and the #1 recruiting class in the nation, this game should be all Memphis.

I agree. I live in Memphis now and can't understand why play in Tupelo? I would have scheduled kind of a home and home.. Geaux Tigers.

A home and home makes much more sense, especially for Memphis, as they would pack the Forum for a game against an SEC opponent. The only thing I can get out of this is that Josh Pastner, or possibly both schools, are trying to do something with recruiting here. That is the only thing to be gained by something like this. The enemy of Ole Miss and MSU is my friend? I would love it my two favorite teams stole some recruits from the one I despise the most.

My best friend is the shot clock operator at the Forum for Tiger games, and knows several people around the Memphis athletic dept. He told me that RC Johnson has been looking to do some local area neutral site games for a while now. In fact, the UM Baseball team is playing a home game in Jackson, TN in the next week or so. Ole Miss is already doing this as well, playing a couple of basketball games at the DCC in the last three seasons. Memphis is just trying to broaden their fan base outside the city into areas that lean more to Ole Miss or Tennessee.
