Looking at each team, I'd say the following is how'd I'd see LSU vs Auburn from a unit standpoint:

Defense:
DL - Auburn
LB - Clearly LSU
DB - Slight LSU

Offense:
QB - Auburn
RB - Auburn
WR - LSU in talent by a little bit, but experience is the issue
OL - Auburn by a significant margin
TE - Push?

Special Teams:
K - Push
P - Push
Coverage - Push

OC - Auburn by a lot
DC - LSU by a little (from what we've seen, Aranda is better, but by how much is yet to be seen).

Overall, I feel that Auburn is better in more positions, especially on the offensive side. Their advantages on offense greatly outweigh LSU's defensive advantages, but its' not like LSU can't hang or win this game. I think it's just unlikely.

What are y'alls thoughts?

Thoughts?? ....You have done little research

LSU DB have a huge advantage IF we are comparing the two teams.

LSU kicking game is vastly improved and MUCH better than Auburn. I believe Auburn kicker is 60% vs Tracy that leads the SEC in kicking in attempts, kicks, and percentage.

I wouldn't say clearly, but yes LSU has the advantage. Auburn's front 7 is one of the best we'll face all year. Light years ahead of Miami's...

Everything else seems accurate to me. The cards are certainly stacked against LSU in this one.

Auburn OL was pretty suspect VS Washington.

saying by a wide margin is kinda iffy.

Their kicker is 3/5. Their punter has an average less than 40. Our kicker is perfect. Our punter is averaging around 46 yards. How is this a push?

I’d also go on to say that we FINALLY have a kicker that routinely kicks it into the end zone, so coverage issues aren’t really something to be concerned with.

Not sure I agree with the "by a significant margin" part of this...

I hate these comparisons. Who cares if our Linebackers are better than theirs? It's not like our LB's are going head to head with them or would even be on the field at the same time as them. It literally has no bearing on the outcome of the game whatsoever. It would be much more relevant to compare our DL to their OL, our LB's to their OL/RB's/TE's and our DB's to their WR's.

Yeah their OL is pretty average too. You really haven’t looked up anything.

Why does this matter? It’s not like the AU D-line is facing the LSU D-Line. Why not compare match ups? LSU D-Line vs their O-Line for ex.

Edit: Not Cooper beat me to the punch.

Comparing unit-to-unit is useless.

For instance, LSU DL doesn't play Auburn's DL. They play LSU's OL. Which doesn't look too encouraging if you're an LSU fan.

Their LB's vs. Our Rbs/FB/TE's is a push at best. It's probably in LSU's favor on the other side.

I expect DB's to win more often than not on both sides.

Sorry, Stidham looks better than Burrow so far.

The matchups, overall, do not favor LSU.

I think the matchup of the game is our secondary versus their receivers. It's strength on strength. LSU has as many sacks as Auburn, and both teams have questionable olines, so both QB's are gonna get hit a lot. But Auburn has an elite receiving corps and LSU has a terrific secondary. How they match up will determine the game. Time for Greedy to earn the NFL paycheck.

This is possibly one of the worst breakdowns I have ever seen. Have you watched LSU, or Auburn this year at all? We win special teams easily. Their offensive line isn’t very good at all. I’d say that’s a push. Our DB’s are much better than theirs. Auburn doesn’t have much of a RB either, and Brosette has looked solid. I take Brosette over any Auburn RB right now. Arranda is hands down better than Steele. What the hell is this?

Actually............ linebackers over all comparison has a point though. They dont always cover the rbs...they rush the passer. they stop the run. they cover tigh ends and wrs sometimes. Many diff things, so yeah a lb comparison to lb of the other team has a point---now dl versus oline ---yeah that makes sense

Man I think people are shitting on Miami a little too hard.

They've got a good defensive line, and a good defense overall. Of course I agree that Auburn is a better defense and a better front 7, but it's not like Miami's defense sucks. Let's not forget we didn't even muster 300 yards of offense in that game.
