Point being LSU is only 18-13 against Lefties on season...

Looking at stats I honestly want Texas also, they seem the weakest in that 3 team lump.
Arizona State presents the biggest matchup problem for LSU in the fact 2 LHP we could face, plus team can hit.
UNC beat us last year, White had a down year by his standards, the team primarily won its games based on bats this year. I mean their top 2 hitters hit .391 and .412 on the season.

Here I will do it for you since comprehension is lost.
Coleman
14-2 2.68 ERA 132k in 121 innings opp hit .218 against
Ranuado
10-3 3.03 ERA 150k in 113 innings opp hit .203 against
Ott
3-2 2.12 ERA 54k in 45.2 Innings opp hit .242 against

Okay, lets suppose North Carolina,Texas..or even Southern Miss go on and win that bracket vs Arizona State. Won't that mean that that team has found the right formula and is doing everything right ?
I'll take out chances right now vs anyone. This is more like the 2000 team. Last year's team was just happy to be there --and I was, too. This year's team wants a title.

I think I am just going to root for LSU, if we are really the best team in the nation then we have to beat the best!
Probably the best way to look at it.

i think his point is we have good pitchers too.
not that there is not merit to your lhp argument, but how many of those losses were midweek games compared to weekend games when we had our best pitcher in the game. i don't know the answer, just asking.
the regular season is sooooo different from the post season. coaches trying to figure out the best line-ups and rotations and...
would i prefer a rhp with a high era? of course, but i feel pretty comfortable with how our guys are playing.

I know we have good pitchers... Coleman is type of pitcher I like he is gritty and going to give you everything he has.
From a match-up perspective now that we are in winners bracket I am looking ahead. Arizona State to me provides a harder match-up and being that I want LSU to win the whole damn thing I would prefer to not face them.
Alex White is a great pitcher but he is RHP and having a down year by the standards he set last year.
I think UVA pitcher was not his best and was nervous when we faced him. That ties into point you made with regular season so different that postseason. I think if we face him again he wont be as nervous and we will see more of what he did during regular season.

Been a lifelong Yankee fan, because my Paw Paw was. He got to see Ron Guidry play in the Superdome in an exibition game before he died.
But back on subject, I am hoping we get a chance to face Texas....would love to take the title from them.

I think Texas is our best matchup
but my stubbornness wants UNC after last year

The only thing I'm really rooting for is for is the ASU/UT winner to lose on Thursday to have to play that extra game.
