They've done it twice idiot.

Wait so why does CBS get it at night again? Doesn't sound like they gave up anything to make our game a night game last year. "Hey ESPN, why don't you let us have Bama vs LSU at night this year, and then next year, we'll just get it at night again. Hows that sound?"
Am I missing something here?

They get one night game a year (I think) and have never broadcast from Tiger Stadium for that night game.
Sarcasm?

ESPN is restricted from showing games during CBS' time slot, not the other way around. CBS has Sat night programming they want to show and that's why there isn't more than one night game.
The appeasement of last years agreement is directed at LSU, no one else.

I think CBS gave up their right to select a game first one week this season to move last year's game into primetime, then guaranteed that LSU and Bama would be at night this year

No I think over the past 5 or 6 years CBS has one night game a year. I can never remember them doing that night game at Tiger Stadium.

Possible ..... and even probable.

2007 Florida at LSU was a night CBS game

yes. once the game was switched to prime time for them last season there was no question we weren't going to let even CBS frick us over in BR.

I sure wouldn't count on it. If I were making plane reservations I'd sure make allowances for it to be a day game because you never know.

To quote the astute mr. the boat, that's cool but its a night game.

Per the LSU athletic department last year:
CBS had already used their 1 night game a year on another game, however with the LSU Bama game being named "The game of the Century" and with CBS having the rights to their pick of any game, They of course chose LSU vs. Bama that week for their normal 2:30 slot. They wanted to move the game back to a later start because of the increased ratings. However ESPN had to agreee since it was in their contract. In order to appease ESPN, CBS gave ESPN the rights to broadcast any game they wanted in prime time, except LSU Vs. Bama which they would exercise their right as their only night game of the year.
Synposis:
LSU VS. Bama will be at night this year in Tiger Stadium. Because CBS gave the rights to ESPN to have their choice of any night game besides that one.

If LSU loses a few games by then I won't really give a shite about what time the game is. Fwiw.

How the hell is this thread still going?
It is a night game and it has been a night game since Nov. 3rd or 4th of 2011. Doesn't matter who does what, it is a night game. /thread.

Just think how dumb the threads about this will be in the weeks leading up to the game.

The first game will be at night. No word on the rematch yet.
