Played football for the same HS our MLB played for.. Many people here know that as well as the fact that I ran track at a high level. But If you really want to believe that "players meetings" are anything more than a bitch session and don't actually improve a players ability to be more athletic or go from a 250 lb DT to a 290 lb DT then nothing I can say would sway your sunshine pumping ability.

BTW I was only answering the question that I must have never played a sport. Im not saying they shouldn't have a "players meeting" Im just saying its something that you are already in so much deep shite that its not going to matter by time you have to call one. The coaching philosophy will not change do to any meeting. This team's issue is lack of experience and a lack of ability in some key positions. Nothing a team meeting can solve. But continue to deflect.

Ah, the "players only meeting." The universal sign that your team's season is officially an unsalvageable shite show.
The New York Giants had a players only meeting after week 2. Have gone 3-0 since then.

The KC Royals had a players only meeting in July and are in the ALCS now.

hopefully this motivates them to play with some semblance of fire, but with the schemes on both sides still being total shite I'm not too hopeful on a 180 on the season

you know I am actually more pissed about our best RB LF7 not getting 25 touches. You want to run the ball, I get that. What I don't get is why does our best back not getting most of the touches.

I'm not sure the word "most" means what you think it means:

LSU Rushing
CAR YDS AVG TD LG
Leonard Fournette 10 42 4.2 0 10
Brandon Harris 8 36 4.5 0 32
Terrence Magee 8 23 2.9 0 8
Darrel Williams 4 19 4.8 0 14
Kenny Hilliard 4 11 2.8 1 6
Anthony Jennings 2 7 3.5 0 9
Team 36 138 3.8 1 32

Let's face it - this year has been miserable, and will likely only get even miserabler. Make no mistake though - all of our young players will learn from the debacle that is/will be the 2014 season, and I HAVE to believe the core group of young talent of which this team is comprised will ultimately - before their LSU playing days are over - gel into an incredibly good football team.

We have a coach that has proven he can lead a group of men to UNPARALLELED success. Yes, I used that word, and believe it's an accurate description, as I've never seen an LSU team achieve more on the field than the one one that navigated through the 2012 season. It was beautiful, and glorious. So beautiful and glorious that the turd that was laid in the season's final game stunk much worse than it should have.

We have players who were coveted by every football program in the country. Others wanted every one of them because they were the best around. they'll adapt, adjust, and play better.

Maintaining success EVERY YEAR at the level LSU fans find acceptable is impossible. So, along comes 2014, and our young team and hard headed coaches are served a heaping portion of humble pie. They'll digest it, and due to its horrible taste, the coaches will make the appropriate changes, and the players will mature.

I really believe that we have the players and coaches RIGHT NOW to be great, and that the negativity associated with 2014 will ultimately serve all of us well, in the end. While I'm getting too old to "just shuck" a season, that's what we need to do w/2014. Just suffer through it, then ride off from it, and re-direct our efforts in 2015 and forward. As bad as it's been, I have not lost confidence in our players or coaches to the point that I think they are incapable of winning - and winning big - with this current crew.

2nd and 2 on the second drive of the game is an obvious passing situation?

There's no doubt the team has heart. I saw that when Alexander called up the defense and was yelling during AU game. We have an incompetent coaching staff. Plain as day.

I enjoyed the 2011 season more to be honest.

Florida called a players only meeting the week before playing lsu in 2007 after they had just lost to auburn.

Same exact scenario, but LSU was able to overcome that players only meeting, will Florida be able to overcome this one.

I feel you are underestimating the awesome power that is the players only meeting.

Players need to buy into the scheme they are running.

Makes me wonder if you have players doubting that scheme. (Cant blame them)

So what can they do but tell everyone that they need to trust in Miles?

End result.. Only the coaches can fix this.

I have to agree here with Catman. I mean it can't do any harm, but either you have the skill set and the know how to apply it or you don't. The coaching issue is harder to put into context. Why is Chavis contiueing to leave his middle exposed, or is it not getting the calls in. Either way I see that as the biggest problem and it's on him to correct it. Execution on offense is on the players.

Miles, Chavis, and Cam should be in there as well so the vets on this team can light a fire under his arse too. Maybe calling them out behind closed doors will open their eyes a little bit about their respective performances. This poor perfomance ss not just on the players. There have been some very bad play calling that has not placed the players in a position where they can succeed.

I think you just invented a word. but I think there is a better chance that this year will get less miserabler. I think the team will gel later on and play with better execution.

agreed. he didn't just forget how to be a HC. every team is different and this team has a lot to learn. if they are tough, they will get through this and excel. they are a distinct cut above many of our fan base which gives up immediately when faced with adversity.

agreed. there aren't many that will tho. get ready to be called one that accepts mediocrity.

well said. there's too much history THAT SUPPORTS this statement.
