I have looked back and the same is true for every eastern division school prior to 2012.

Prior to the addition of AtM and Mizzou in 2012, I believe they always scheduled games home and away in back-to-back years once conference play had set rules regarding how many games needed to be played.

The 2019/2020 thing was an anomaly due to the 2020 COVID season being all SEC play. Otherwise, we would not have played Vandy in 2020.

Another game was supposed to be in SC but was relocated to BR because of a hurricane.

Ahhh the infamous game where Les made Steve Spurrier quit.
Fournette CRUSHED them and then wanted to auction off his jersey really showed how stupid the NCAA really is.

I don’t think it was a hurricane, I think it was just a catastrophic flood.

Florida is now our permanent Eastern division opponent. They and Kentucky were yearly opponents until 1992 and remained so after as our 2 permanent/ yearly Eastern division opponents, but Kentucky was removed as a yearly opponent when SEC added Texas A&M and Missouri, and Texas A&M became our permanent yearly opponents in the West division.

Doing away with divisions was the dumbest decision. They should just add Oklahoma to the east and Texas to the west. Add another conference game and do two permanent eastern opponents like we used to have.

I just looked at the schedules and we played vandy in 2019 & 2020. The 2019 score was 66 - 38. The score for the 2020 game was 41 - 7. Both games were played in Nashville. I guess with 2020 being the Covid year and the SEC only playing 10 conference games. I guess to make the schedule work we had to play them in Nashville both times

Was thinking Ok and Tx in west and Bama and Auburn to east might work too. LSU fans would get mad, but Bama’s rivals are Auburn and Tennessee and Auburn’s are Bama and I think Georgia. Someone help me out with that. But one of those two could be kept as a permanent game

Actually it was in 2003. That's when the SEC went from a 5-2-1 to a 5-1-2 format with the Big 6 dropping their little 6 permanent opponents.

And LSU. Why else would they say “F Auburn. And LSU. And Tennessee too”. Can’t say LSU and Bama aren’t rivals. I don’t give a shite what those entitled pricks say.

Tv ratings say otherwise. It moves the needle. It’s arguably the biggest rivalry in the south.
