The major networks and NFL DO NOT want college games played on Sundays.

If the issue with Sunday is flying to Florida on Saturday, have them fly to Tallahassee on Saturday...one issue with that would be if Florida and Miami move their game to Tallahassee.

I would bet they will plan to push it back to Sunday or Monday night. It's their biggest home game and they would love not to play it at noon

Oh yeah? Go tell me what New Years Day bowl games are on this year? I'll make it easy. None, because NYD is a Sunday.
Their influence over the TV networks is huge.

South Carolina Gov said the state will not offer any state assistance for the USCe game.

quote: Put yourself in their shoes. LSU would be doing the same thing. No. LSU has experience with major disasters. They know the stakes that transcend sports. For all our dissatisfaction about the way they have handled many things, I'm 100% confident LSU would take the right course if the situation were reversed.
Exactly. We moved a game to Arizona when we had no damage but because emergency personnel and LEOs were needed elsewhere. I understand them wanting to keep the game but I believe they are playing both ends against the middle. Either the storm shifts and it goes as planned or the game gets cancelled. I honestly think both these are the only acceptable scenarios for them. Weak sauce honestly.

It was cited as a reason LSU played Tennessee on Monday in 2005, instead of Sunday.

TV would love it. The only college game on tv on a Sunday??? LSU-UF... Ratings would go through the the roof.

It will ultimately be law enforcement that gets the game moved/canceled. They actually control whether it happens or not. It doesn't really matter what the schools are the SEC want.

I'd be willing to bet that the NFL TV contracts with all networks stipulate they won't air college games on Sunday.
We'll see if I am wrong, but I would be very surprised to see the game held on Sunday.

no. it's because the campus was being used as a refugee center for pets and people. the city of new orleans was under water and baton rouge was the closest hub.

That was a meaningless non conference game. Easy descison.

Hotels in Tallahassee, Valdosta, Lake City, Tampa, Orlando are all sold out. Where would LSU football team stay? THey aren't going to displace evacuees...

Yes, and the LSU game was at like 5pm so as not to compete. Either way, they probably care less about Mondays. Sunday is "their" day.

Homeland Security/FEMA controls most large events. One phone call and it's over.

They would stay in the hotel they already have booked.
