So stupid question. If the game is cancelled, is there an open date before the SECCG? If not, lets just suppose LSU and UF are in a position to win their divisions, but both have 1 less game than the others. So we basically have to play this game at some point, right? They would have to move back the CG to get this game in. Am I reading that right?

Thanks, MrSmith. I don't think the rest of the folks here no how to read a map and track hurricanes. Gainesville is probably going to be out of harm's ways of this thing. It's northwest of the storm even before the storm veers back into the Atlantic to do the loop de loop it's going to do. Gainesville will get some effects of the outer feeder bands but unless the storm takes a last-minute track west, things will be fine there by Friday night.

Ding Ding Ding.
Exactly what I've been saying. It's obvious they just want a free home game. Most of them probably would be screaming that the LSU admin was overreacting if they were doing the same as UF is now.
And folks think that the UF admin is underreacting...that they should have given LSU the game already.

Yeah, going to fun with all the lightning delays.
Then you still have the TV timeouts (with network giving up and swapping to another game)!

I will be interesting to hear what CEO says about this on his show tonight.

The game is on Saturday.
If it's raining now it's that much sooner that the storm will be moving out.
You do realize the viability of the game being played is based on the question of the aftermath of the storm.
Not that they are going to try squeezing it in between feeder bands

the teams flies in on Friday. we will know by then if it's going to impact Gainesville more than expected by then since it's predicted to be half way up Florida's east coast.

There is a precedent for this. In the wake of 9/11, LSU/Auburn moved their game to the end of the 2001 season, the week before the SECCG. You remember it...it's the one where the Aubbie kicker tried to fight the whole GBFTL.

I'm used to being on the wrong side of Rantards.
I just remember reactions from some here when LSU have been on the other side of things.
Also, maps of the storm track.

Yet somehow each of the last 4 updates have moved it even more westward. Regardless of what happens it's asinine that they would even gamble with people's safety over a possibility that it misses Gainesville.

i'm looking at the national hurricane center maps as i usually do to avoid the media panic button pushers.
50% chance of winds 39% or greater and not even a couple inches of rain forecasted.
If this same storm was hitting in relation to baton rouge as it is to Gainesville, this board would probably be up in arms about how Florida better not refuse to come here.
The storm is 2 hours inland from Daytona where is is predicted to hit
This is a graph shows that Gainesville is barely in the cone.
