If nothing else this is a slap in the face to first responders in florida. Florida administration basically saying "we DGAF if there are emergency needs in our area or other surrounding areas, we need to play a football game in gainsville no matter the tax on police/ems/ect."

Gainesville has about a 50% chance of tropical storm winds. Are we not concerned about tropical storm winds anymore or did we forget about what Gustav did to BR? Half the town wont have power if that happens

Yeah, 9/11 was quite a bit different than this; everyone took a week off

This is a graph shows that Gainesville is barely in the cone.
You realize the cone is just where the eye of the storm could be right?

You just proved his point and more importantly disproved yours. The blue cone on your link is the potential eye location. The storm is a few hundred miles wide

Finebaum keeps hitting on the security issues. Resources would be needed elsewhere.

LSU forfeits, giving Bama a two game lead in the SECW. That's the plan.

A bunch of BS. He really didn't say much of anything concrete. They're "communicating". Can't make a call yet because they don't know where security will be needed. Of course, that tells me it should be moved, but apparently he doesn't see it that way.
I would have asked what the back up plans are. We know the game will not be moved. We don't know when it will be played or if it will be played. I think they've decided not to move it and that if it has to be cancelled, so be it, which favors FL heavily, in my opinion.
I'm just stunned this is playing out this way, even if the game is eventually played in FL on Sunday or Monday.

Put yourself in their shoes. LSU would be doing the same thing.
