Dudes change of direction speed is bad. Looks like he overshoots his gaps a lot.

I watched The game vs Washington and he makes good plays and he’s active. And like these highlights are just him overrunning blitzes lol

As simple of a summary and I can give is that Oregon State blitzed him a ton, even on running plays. Those gifs showing examples. He's not taking the wrong hole, he is taking the hole that the defense play sent him on to disrupt the offense. And they used him in coverage a ton. The thought is that LSU will use him a bit differently and not as aggressive.

Another thing to keep in mind is he has no help around him. He's an all-american in a conference that doesn't play defense.

To be fair, that was basically Damone Clark in 2020 and 1/2 of 2021. Always great effort...that was generally spent running down guys from behind. Then, the coaching staff was freed from the shackles of having to run Orgeron's ridiculous fan-fiction defense and were able to put Clark in position to succeed. All of a sudden he became an unblockable monster living in opponent's backfields.
Now, OSU's DC wasn't as dumb as Orgeron, but it could be an instance where House understands exactly how to use him and we see him have a great year. It took House a few weeks to fully understand what he had in Perkins and how best to utilize him. But once he did.....

Another point of the article was to show how he was lined up in many different positions.
Interesting, it does have a pic of Speights lined up at CB.

I see a guy that doesn't hesitate to shot a gap if he sees it.. If it's a called blitz he did his job.. Nobody else did theirs.. He obviously has talent.. He could help Penn a better ILB too.. So we will see
