The real problem is they took it to fund women's basketball

You could double what you're giving McMahon to put together a roster, and the men's team still wouldn't have enough depth or know how to close out games in which they haven't been blown out in the first half.

This guy has been in over his head for 4 years. It's time to pull the plug.

That has not been true for some time now.

Even if true, how do you compare an almost empty PMAC in MBB to 25k LSU baseball fans in Omaha with multiple natties? Money isn’t everything. The fans tell you what they want.

LSU Baseball will always be better and more relevant than LSU basketball

Right PP7 because LSU is the only team in college basketball that has to deal with injuries!

Well when someone starts a thread about LSU basketball getting money and losing games, I think it's fair to point out that the two highest paid players on the team have not been on the floor for the most important games of the season.

No diehard LSU fan has this mindset about college baseball. Maybe the majority of the country, but not LSU fans. It’s all football and college baseball for me then whatever else is a pretty big distant third.

The statement that started this section of the thread mentioned ROI. All of the things you speak of are not typically considered ROI. And baseball seems to be doing just fine. NIL money targeted at basketball comes primarily from basketball boosters, and the same is true for baseball. I don't think basketball is diverting money from any other sport.

Baseball is a minor sport don’t forget it

It’s also the sport LSU is best at and needs to be treated as such.

LSU released its revenue share and MBB got 15% to baseball’s 5%. Other SEC schools allocated 7.5-10% to baseball. (Ole Miss released their baseball share was 7.5%) That gives their baseball teams a competitive advantage over LSU. Scott screwed Jay Johnson over. Hopefully Verge fixes it

And how much are other schools allocating to basketball? You got a link for any of those numbers?

I don’t know, but I think Verge is going to have to make a decision whether to prioritize baseball or MBB. That’s a tough decision.

You’d seriously support LSU being the only school in the conference without MBB just so the baseball team could be just as good as we already are?

It’s a good question. I believe in the OM case they took more money away from WBB to contribute to MBB if I remember correctly, but not sure about other schools

I don’t think it’s a matter of priority (give to one, take from the other). Just hire the right MBB coach.
