playing UT in houston would have done a lot more for LSU than nashville vs notre dame

Someone please explain to me why playing a bowl game is so huge to recruiting. Why is it so vital that LSU play in Houston to help recruiting so much? I think all of you heard someone say this once and then just latched on to it.
