What in the frick LSU? This is the one weekend where you decide to get uncool and throw up metal detectors at the student gate and furiously check IDs? Lighten up. It's the biggest football game of the College Football season. Let these kids have some fun.

If they turn students away at the gate for using somebody else’s student ID with a ticket they purchased from that student there will be riots.

Bringing your buddy who isn't a student is not a particularly unsafe thing to do. So obviously this caveat doesn't need to be added in this situation.

What's wrong with that exactly?

The way it works is any LSU student can sell their ticket to any other LSU student. They aren't linked to the ID. But you do need a valid ID for the ticket to work. It can still be your own. So the only people who will be screwed are the non students who are attending with LSU students. And most of them have probably already purchased their tickets and made those plans. Damn. I'm so glad I always had my own season tickets.

Nowhere in the article does LSU say they are going to heavily monitor Id's. The guy just lays out the possible punishments. Nothing different will be done.

LSU admin continues to drive their agenda in the opposite direction of every other Tiger fan out there.

Greatest atmosphere in Tiger Stadium in a decade you say? We'll see about that. What a bunch of cucks.

But what if people start bringing their buddy’s from say....southern or another school that doesn’t really care about LSU or Alabama. Then you have an uninterested person in the stands wasteing a ticket!

Nothing by the letter of the law. But I particularly don't think LSU should turn into the Gestapo and keep LSU students from bringing their friends from other schools and stuff to the game.

They paid over $100+ to get tickets to the game if they aren't a student. They're at this game because they want to be at a big time game. They're interested.

I went to SLU (bash away) and used someone who went to LSU's ID to get into every game.

That's fair, but in LSU's mind, they think there should be at least 13,000 students that want to go to the game, so if you can't go yourself, find a student to take your ticket, it is the student section. They're also trying to cut down on students reselling their $12 ticket for $300.

Is it an annoying rule? Sure. But I get why they do it.

Easy solution.....buy a ticket in the lower bowl and walk over

Once youre in, its easy to walk on over.

I did this back in 2006 and 07 when I was in grad school at another school.

You can have fun against Rice.

It's not outrageous to remind everyone that people will be doing their jobs this weekend. Especially since every eye will be trained on Death Valley.
