with the talent we have in state and a DC just as we have now, our defense stays as good as it is.

You're acting like the defense and offensive sides of the ball play in a vacuum. What happens on one side absolutely effects the other side of the ball. That doesn't mean LSU would completely suck on D, but without time to rest and a ball control offense, the ability of the D to sustain their play would drop, it's just a fact.

I'm saying Malzahn was scoffed at by this same board because the board is collectively stupid. Same thing with Patterson. You have to be able to see potential in people regardless if it's coaching or business or life. It's a testament to the Rantards that they can't even fathom it.

So what were your thoughts on Miles when he won the SEC West twice in 3 years, three 11+ win seasons, and won a National championship his first 3 years?

No it's not. There's a reason you don't see top defensive coordinators attached with these HUNH offensives. That style of offensive football isn't complimentary to good defense. Everyone keeps saying this shite, but none of yall can name a HUNH offense that has an outstanding defense with it or outstanding defensive coordinator. Plus, going up against that style of offense everyday at practice makes defenses soft. I guess things are just supposed to be different because we would be talking about LSU.

This guy gets it. It's called having an identity. You're either power, or you're finesse. It's impossible to be both.

I'd bet $100 you had to look up "mutually exclusive" to see what it meant then still didn't understand.

Especially in the context - another one that will get you - that Miles had shitty defenses at OSU. Yet any other coach couldn't possibly come into LSU and have a offensive mind AND a defense as well.

I imagine the hamster turning the wheel in your head, "we can't have offense AND defense. Impossible."

More deflection? Having trouble finding that offensive guru that was able to keep teams under 30 points per game?

I disagree from the stand point the D would be jacked to play knowing the offense was lighting up the scoreboard.

now I think they get demoralized if the give up more then 20, because most likely the offense play calling cant keep up.

No one is saying this. The point is being made that it's hard to have a good defensive unit running HUNH offense. Every fan wants better offensive production at LSU. Anybody saying otherwise is lying. Better offensive production can be accomplished without having to go to a HUNH offense.

Of course we can have offense and defense, that wasn't the point of the thread. The wide open, HUHN teams are the ones that traditionally struggle to field competent defenses. But there are many other ways to have good offenses that score points without trying to run 90 plays a game.

It's hard to be jacked when you're winded because your offense doesn't value time of possession.

I'm deflecting? You haven't answered one fricking thing.

Easy answer is Jimbo bro if you really need one.

Yes you are. All I'm asking for is one team that runs HUNH and has a dominant defense. Just one.

Lol no. Jimbo doesn't run a HUNH. Try again.

I am not even speaking to the hurry up aspect.

I like the way the offense is opened up and the defense cant just key on the hand off.
