He's still got 5 years left. He's not going anywhere else.
If cleared he will be back at LSU.

quote:Incorrect. The administration knew all of this months ago. This is nothing more than trying to control "optics," which is almost always the wrong move in the long term. The absolute BEST thing LSU could do would be to fire Alleva and King tonight and reinstate Wade and then say they will take action when the NCAA deems necessary and not before.
The administration knows far more than anyone posting here, and felt like this was necessary.

He will leave the first chance he gets. Why would he want to stay at a university that didn't stand by him?

The school knows an NCAA investigation is coming. Of course its about optics, but it's their way of managing the damage.

This does absolutely nothing to manage the damage. If the NCAA finds Wade guilty of something, we are getting hammered.

Yeah man, I'm sure you have so much insight into the NCAA and their pending investigation.

The guy is on tape talking about complaining that the "package" he offered to a kid and his family didn't give a big enough cut to the middle man.

If you think this suspension stops any other penalties if Wade is found guilty, well I don't really have anything for you.

stand by him for the rules that he knows he broke? lol what planet are you fricks on to think this is going to upset him when he knows he is guilty

Ask Mizzu about how managing the damage by cooperating with the NCAA helped them avoid being hammered. Then ask N.C. how fighting the NCAA kept them from serious sanctions.

The NCAA dropped a hammer on Mizzou’s athletic department Thursday, announcing a series of sanctions that most prominently include a 2019 bowl ban for the football team. The school will appeal, but for now, it’s in boiling water.
And mizzou is appealing. Major cooperation I guess.
ETA: As for UNC:
quote:
The NCAA thinks UNC hosted academic fraud. But it thinks the benefits of that fraud extended to non-athletes, too, and in the weird world of NCAA justice, that matters:
Not gonna be a factor here, and not really sure what they did preemptively anyway that would compare to suspending a coach without any allegations being levied.

“Recent media reports regarding Coach Will Wade are without question concerning to all of us. As such, we and university officials have taken deliberate and purposeful steps to fairly assess and adequately address this situation. As we have done since media reports first surfaced months ago, we are closely coordinating with the NCAA with every step. They have our full cooperation and we will continue to report to them all facts and information on this matter.
I see that Alleva did not learn anything from the Duke LaCrosse incident. He is still caving to pressure from the media. F**K Alleva and F. King Alexander and their philosophy of guilty until proven innocent.
On a positive note, maybe this will finally be the straw that breaks the back and gets F. King Alexander and Alleva fired.

That's not whats happening. If so, Wade would be fired.
He's still under contract. I'm not sure this is the best way of handling it but Wade is the one who screwed up here.
My thought was he should complete the season, but I'm not privy to the information Alleva might have.

This is complete BS. Once again the freaking gumps won’t let LSU have success in any sport. I’m sick of it.

Wade needed to get suspended, and Smart needs to be benched. LSU wins are gonna be vacated. Wade wasn't very "Smart" actually discussing "offer" to Smart over the phone, though it is accepted that the practice of compensating players is rampant.
I don't want to link this, but, there's a good commentary about this on youtube, involving our own Marcus Spears, where Stephen A. calls Will Wade "the biggest fool on the planet" for FBI wiretaps.
I so very wish this weren't true, as Wade is a good coach. However, if/when the facts are confirmed, LSU is gonna take a lickin', and given the current rules (however bad those rules are), that lickin' will be justified.

Oh shite. Stephan A called Wade a fool!? Well, we're fricked for SURE! Marcus Spears was there!? Oh shite. fricked, fricked, fricked!

If this ain’t the last straw for Alleva, then I don’t know how much further the base can take of his shite. We knew the spineless prick from Duke lacrosse, now suspending the coach with just speculation playing for an SEC title. Just damn....
