Anyone else going today at 3?

quote:

The annual “LSU Student Day” at football practice gives LSU students an opportunity to tour the team’s gameday locker room in Tiger Stadium along with entering the Tiger Stadium the way the players do on a Saturday Night in Death Valley - through the chute with a touch of the “Win” bar as they exit the locker room.

The Tigers are scheduled to practice in shorts and helmets on Thursday from 4 p.m. until approximately 5:30. Once the Tigers are done with their practice, LSU students will get a chance to take the field in Tiger Stadium to participate in a Punt, Pass and Kick competition.

Pretty cool for the students. I always wanted to touch that bar running out the tunnel.

They've done this in the past? Don't remember hearing about it.

The article advertises it as an annual event, but I don't know that I had heard about it before.

They do it every year. Usually the week before the Spring game.
Not sure if it was as cool as this sounds though

Don't remember them doing this when I first attended in 05-10, so I def plan on checking it out being my first semester back.

Got to do it plenty of times through TAF. Did the college club in undergrad and I get invites all the time.

I wonder if the students will stay for the entire practice?

Hard to touch the board if you have a good pregame.

I walked around the locker room, touched the win bar, and left before practice started.

I'm pretty positive when I was there (10-15) they just had student day at the practice facility. I never went, but I certainly would have if the event was at the stadium

I did rehab in Tiger Stadium for an ankle injury in 1981. Part of that rehab was doing "figure 8's" sideline to sideline in the North End Zone.....wearing nothing but a jock strap. Clothing wasn't allowed in the PT area for saniitization purposes.

According to my son, you could. He sent me a quick video of him touching the WIN bar (probably just to make me jealous). He said they could stay and watch practice and then do things like kicking and throwing with some of the players but he didn't stay because it was starting to rain.

I went in '13 and it was just at the practice facility. I remember a lot of people saying Miles hated it. Alleva was he one who pushed for it. Glad to see O is letting the students touch the win bar
