Clemson matches up better against LSU especially their DL against a new OL breaking in which can't seem to find their interior yet

I'm not crowning anyone but the way some posters in here act like LSU is just going to roll over Clemson who's arguably more talented and at worst a wash on talent to LSU with a lot more inbuilt advantages in game 1 is just asinine.
Play LSU later in the season? Probably would be a totally different mind set.

Ok...ill bite...based upon what? They didnt have a win vs even a decent team last year. Pitt and smu and thats it. Their same defensive players were shredded last year. They have lost their last 2 opening games byba combined 52 points.
They may be improved but the hype is ridiculous....the same as Penn state, ND, and Texas are getting.

Because we’ve out recruited Clemson and have a better roster top to bottom
So what happened with the two FSU openers?
Exactly, we will know after the game is played. I'm not falling for all those things we are great about, and we haven't played a game yet.

Why not apply that to LSU? What you're complaining about applies to LSU as well.
They're under the assumption Clemson gets better because they're loaded with high end NFL talent. What makes you think they're the same team as last year? If they don't improve why would LSU? Teams are not static they get better even with the same players.
What's fact though is LSU hasn't won an opening day game in years and LSU teams under BK get off to slow starts to the season. Clemson is at home with a team at the very minimum as talented as LSU if not better with a team that SHOULD have much better chemistry than LSU. That's a huge advantage in game 1. I don't know what else to tell you.
LSU didn't exactly light the world on fire last year either if you didn't notice.

NFL draft projections disagree with you. Compare the projected draft between both the teams. Clemson has 7 day 1 guys LSU has 2 to possibly 3 with the transfer portal CB. More the point the hold them in high regard even if they don't meet those projections.

Yet you are going to the extreme in the other direction while stating false information & exaggerations to make it seem like Clemson is some unbeatable team. They are not.

What makes you think they're the same team as last year?
They only took 3 transfers ad have like 82% of their snaps back. Their improvement is base don individual players getting better and a better defensive scheme. Yes its definitely possible both of those things happen and they perform much better but they do essentially have the same team from last year.

f they don't improve why would LSU?
Outside of OL, LSU retained their best starters and replaced the not so great ones with highly sought after transfers. We have a safety who started last year who isn't even on our 2 deep.
I am not saying that we improve and they don't, I am saying that its apples and oranges and you can glean more from looking at their team last year than you can from looking at ours.

Dabo’s much closer to BK between the headsets than you think. He’s not Kirby Smart
Posted on 8/12/25 at 3:21 pm to Bert Macklin FBI
Which also means you can make an assumption LSU is going to struggle early on the season because 1.) They get off to slow starts under BK's tenure 2.) they have many new faces that need to develop chemistry
If you're going to catch LSU it will have to be early in the season and unfortunately for them they play Clemson game 1 and possibly an underrated Florida team in game 3. I can see this team molding into something special by mid season we just got to survive the first half.

Clemson is over confident (maybe we are too).
Our defense will be extremely under rated.
Kelly's back is against the wall.

LSU starts 1-0 because
When camp is over CBK/Staff will have compiled a team of lifetakers & heartbreakers. By game day they will be mean nasty & tired. They'll be eating concertina wire & pissing napalm. Improvising, adapting & overcoming adversity. Half way through the 1st quarter CBK is coming out to the hash & telling the Clemson sideline to sit there & bleed a while before they taste some real pain.

Clemson in a close one....

You rarely win big games on the road without a good defense. For the last 5 years LSU hasn't had a great defense, and on some occasions had a truly abysmal defense. I'm cautiously optimistic that this year we see LSU start to get back to a defense of old. If so, I think that will be enough to keep them in the game and allow the offense (which generally takes a bit longer to get in sync) to do enough to win.
Everyone talks about the OL, OC, running game, etc. While those are valid concerns, I think LSU will go as far as the defense takes them. IF this is a top 15-20 defense, LSU's offense, even with a new OL, is good enough to score enough to win every game.

They have a running QB. Unless lots has changed, he will run through the LSU defense like goose shite through a tin horn.

Sellers, Reed, Milroe aren't on the other side of the ball on 8/30. Is Klubnik more mobile than Nuss-- that, folks, is the question.
