Anyone have any idea what the likely start time will be for this game?

I'm guessing probably a 6 centeral ESPN 2 or SEC Network night game. You have Alabama Arkansas, Tennessee Georgia, Mizzou Florida that day as well. Ole Miss or Miss State I think gets the Jefferson Pilot 11am game with the other on SEC Network alternate for their non conference games.

good chance to be the first game off the board, but Georgia Tennessee may be a better game if Tennessee keeps winning.

We need a sticky that says if an official game time is not announced, you will be forced to guess what time a game might happen.

Hard to tell.

CBS picked us for every game they could in 2011, even if we were playing a kind of an average opponent (Florida, Tennessee, Auburn), because we were the #1 team in America and were able to draw a lot of ratings.

You could see the same thing this year, but more so because of Fournette. He's the best player in the country, and a highlight machine. They might try to pick us against Florida and South Carolina, and then a lot in the last 4 games of the season. We especially might get picked for Florida if Alabama loses to Georgia on Oct 3.

Thank you!!

Here's some pointers for trying to guess the kickoff time for a particular SEC game.

1. For the most part, conference games start (central time) at 11:30 am, 2:30 pm, sometime between 5-8:30 pm.

2. CBS is almost always going to get the "best conference matchup of the day" for a 2:30 start unless it's one of their night game slots (Think LSU/Bama for the last several years).

3. Look at the SEC schedule for a particular week. Try to objectively determine the "best" conference game that week. That's likely going to be your CBS game.

4. The next "best" game(s) are going to be at night on one of the ESPN networks.

5. The "bad" conf games that week (or OOC games against a weak opponent) are going to be at 11:30 or at night.

Of course there are exceptions, but the above is a good general guideline

BayouBengals03 makes a lot of good points about CBS wanting to grab LF7 as much as possible. However, I think they will be forced to choose between Florida and South Carolina, and they will choose the Florida game because Florida is slightly better and more so because Florida is a home game.

With that being said:

LSU vs South Carolina 8:15pm ESPN

LSU vs Florida 2:30pm CBS

I freaking hate day games. It is just not the same as a night game in Death Valley. Hope we can refuse if the rumors are true about only having to take one day game for CBS. I know after 2011 when we had so many day games that they came up with some kind of agreement to keep that from happening again.

The SEC takes other schools' traditions into consideration ( cowbells at Moo State and Thanksgiving games for Aggie), but our long-standing tradition of night football is completely ignored.

There is absolutely no truth to that myth. In the end, CBS takes what they want.

No. CBS has full control here.

No, what Alleva said is that we are obligated to move our games at the request of CBS at least once per season. Meaning 1 or more times.

LSU played zero day games in Tiger Stadium last season.

The Tenn/Fla game this Sat will determine a lot. If Tenn wins, Georgia at Tenn could be the CBS 2 30 game Oct 10th and Bama at A&M might be the CBS 2 30 game Oct 17th. Fla is going to lose to Ole Miss Oct 3rd and would have 2 losses in a row going to Mizzou right before LSU. Pull for Tenn this Sat. But is CBS really going to wait till Nov 7th to show LSU and Fournette again? All 4 of our final games could be on CBS esp since 2 of those dates are CBS doubleheader days
