Bourg is amazing defensively, she has a lot of tools on offense as well. I am extremely excited to see her back.
I am not familiar with the transfer rules to be honest
I am hearing LSU is in talks with a player at Arizona State. I am not sure who specifically.
I am also hearing we might hit JUCO route as well

Cunningham got almost zero playing time, and it might have been indicative to her that she was not going to be a starter.
I will say this, there have been a lot of players not even close to the talent she is play way more over the years for Torina. I am not sure the reasoning is for Cunningham. She may not be a superstar at all but its completely odd for her to see ZERO time at all essentially after splitting reps with Jaquish all fall and pre season. Durin some the scrimmages she did really well, hit the ball hard a lot. She hit many doubles in the scrimmages .
I don't necessarily think its ability per say but I think there is something else that interfered with her playing time. One of the trainers I talked to mentioned she had an injury the week before the season started.

JUCO?? Any leads?
You sure about Arizona State?
If the trainers told you anything, then they have violated HIPPA and FERPA laws putting their jobs in jeopardy.

If she has to sit out though, then she sits her senior year. So she must not have to. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense. She was a junior this year at Nicholls

Bear with me, now,... i was just reading on the Ultimate forum under the Arizona 2017 thread, yall should go read it, very interesting.
They complaining about the Baylor game, when they yanked O'Toole and put the big girl in, the lefty, I think her name McQuillan.. and the pitch calling was not good.
One of the Baylor girls put one out in dead centerfield, and that sunk Arizona.. they calling for Coach Mike to fire the two assistants..Iveson and Lowe. Iveson Or Iverson, is the pitching coach.
They want her gone..really.
Anyway toward the end of the discussion, they start talking about Carlson from Auburn. There seems to be a plan to get Carlson to transfer from Auburn to Arizona.
The catch is that Carlson, like Bourg, already had one transfer. Carlson transfered from UNC to Auburn, and now she going from Auburn to Arizona.
Rules are that such a player must sit out...BUT there are exceptions. They talking about Carlson transferring because the school she was attending (not sure if they mean UNC or Auburn) does not have a major for that field she is in. Maybe they pardon such a transfer.
They also said something about graduate studies.. and i think if we put those two things together we come up with this...that a student got a four year degree and played three years of her eligibility...and when she wanted to go for her masters degree, she had one year of eligibility, and the school she got her four year degree from DOES NOT offer a major in the field she wishes to study.
If someone has a better answer than that, please share it, because I am just guessing here.

To my knowledge she has not used her redshirt year so if she was forced to sit out she would still be able to play the next season. As bad as we need middle infielders I can't imagine she is coming to sit out a year. She must have another transfer exception lined up.

Its what I heard. I heard a month back that someone from the PAC 12 was showing interest. Its really difficult trying to obtain transfer info
I am not familiar how the transfer process works but a lot of travel ball coaches seem to be in the know of these workings. Its where I hear a lot of the chatter.

Apparently Arizona is working extremely hard to land Sydney Smith.
Baylor people seem to feel good about landing her but you never know.
I remember when we were in contention for Alex hugo ago years before. LSU seemed to have the lead but her parents preferred Georgia

Baylor would be a good team. Arizona... they say the reason O'Toole got pulled was she was hurting..her back..stiffened up.
When you pitch someone a lot like they do, if their mechanics are off, they end up hurting themselves.. and they say that pitching coach in Arizona dont know what she is doing. i have no idea... but Baylor's pitching coach sure knows her job.

I actually kinda know what happened there. A very reliable person told me that the scholarship that LSU was going to give to Hugo went instead to a different player, whose name totally escapes me right now. Short left-handed hitter who only stayed 2 years then transferred after not doing much here.
I'm not sure why the other kid got the scholarship....not sure if there was a time-crunch or something to where a decision had to be made quickly, but yes, LSU was extremely close to having Hugo and ended up with a player who did next to nothing. Those are the breaks of the recruiting/transfer game.

Then Hugo was a victim of her own success..... after putting down excellent numbers, the other teams stopped pitching to her. She was a great player, too bad we didnt get her.
It be nice to find another Bianka Bell, i think she was the best game changer LSU ever had.. could hit for average and power..

here is a cool article on Flosoftball's top players in the 2016 class at the CWS. The players ranking is next to their name.
A lot of talent on a lot of teams didn't even sniff the field year one. Its a process for sure bein ranked extremely high doesn't guarantee playing time.
Softball recruiting is tight due to limited scholly money.

No, only deadline is the late enrollment date established by the NCAA.
