They need a catcher for next season. After that, Bergeron will be there. She will be in the lineup from day 1.

I think it’s going be ridiculously hard to justify a spot for Tidwell without some type of major improvement at the plate. Her defense certainly doesn’t justify everyday playing time with a .150 BA

I kinda expect Pilon to take over one spot 2B or 3B next year.

Catcher, without a transfer we are stuck until Bergeron comes in

Tidwell will need an A to Z remake of her swing. One glaring issue.. her face is square with the pitchers shoulders... she does not use any peripheral vision. /when the ball comes she follows the ball with her head a good bit..her head going back and she is swinging the bat forward... how she manages to make contact is beyond me...

But.. she is a smart kid.. she makes the pitcher throw strikes, and if she can get her hitting straightened out.. she has power. She could become a powerful offensive asset.

I rarely comment on softball but this is just dumb and shows a full lack of understanding of the game.

Yep, LSU should have gotten rid of two of the best hitters and run producers on the team. Asinine...

All the things we were taught were taboo... dumping the barrell, dropping the shoulder.. swinging off the back foot.. you see that in the batting approach of many on the team.

So we are exhibiting poor batting technique and it’s causing us to struggle at the plate. Damn, I wish we had a hitting coach. Oh yeah, we do, then maybe he’s the problem.

its the ratio... just about every new player that gets up to bat turns out to be a slapper... and they take forever to make the switch to swing away hitters.

Twi slappers in the lineup works for alabama... what i am talking about is it seems every lefthanded batter we get, just about, is a slapper.

I don’t want to sound like negative Nancy here but I’m not convinced Dobson is going to “fix” her swing. Look at what all the tweaking did to Sunseri, her power numbers and average plummeted

The numbers said all that need to be said

There was a rumor circulating before the Supers that she may be leaving. She is not in the transfer portal. I cant think of a reason she would leave other than to transfer to a team with a chance of winning a natty. She seems happy here.

I didnt see the article with Beth talking about the play at 2nd in game two but if the quote i read was accurate, it did not seem like she thought the issue was Tidwell not covering the base. It came across as though she thinks Pleasants was indecisive as to whether she should make the play on her own or toss the ball to Tidwell. If thar is the case....it is not going to have effect on Pleasants that we all want it to have.

If Tidwell and Cummings are still in the lineup hitting under .200 next year then it will be another disappointing year. Unless you have an incredible dominant pitcher you can’t just have 3-4 girls hit .300. You must hit up and down the lineup to make it to the CWS.

No, it's not. It's about getting on base and scoring runs. Few have done it better than Andrews over a career. She was almost a guaranteed double when she reached and scored on just about anything that touched the outfield grass once on second. Getting on base translates to runs scored which is the name of the game. Andrews and Briggs were 1-3 in runs scored. How you get on base is irrelevant.

LSU will miss Andrews drastically and should be looking for an Andrews clone (if one exist) to replace her.

Tidwell and Cummins belong on the McNeese’s of the world. Not a SEC roster

No man, what i am saying is the number of slappers recuited in comparison to swing away hitters.

two other negatives....

Slappers often move base runners one base if successful. A swing away hitter will score a run from second... a slapper usually wont.

Other issue is the better the defense, the less effective slapping is.

I believe Andrews was 2-8 in Supers.

I am wondering ho wmany of those 12 or so freshman that we have never seen are slappers.

Our pitching should be elite this year as Ali and Shelbi should both be all SEC next year. Where are these rumors about Pleasant? Mckenna Dowell is not the answer for a SS at all. If she does go Alyssa Britio from Oregon should be our top priority. Even to play 2nd next year we should go for her. We could see Raeleen starting at 3B or a freshman. Georgia could start at first. If Shelbi can get her hitting back to 2019 levels we have a great shot at OKC. We should be a top 4 seed in the SECT
