Just a little stat that surprised me since LSU is not considered a blue blood. Most bowl game appearances all time

It's such bullshite that we let the 2020 season break the consecutive bowl game streak

Ed the lazy, low-character, immature Orgeron also ended our 8 wins or more streak that dated back to '00.

Orgeron slipped on a banana peel & fell into a National Championship.

We really should have fired Orgeron after the 2019 season. it was clear his mind was elsewhere

to fulfill the best description of the prototypical LSU fan's perfect season:
"Go undefeated, win National Championship, fire the coach" = only missing the "unscored on"

Honestly, I say that's not true. We were eligible. We just declined. It's bowl "appearances," but really it means able to appear in bowls. That's how I look at it anyway.

22 of those bowl games came since 2000.

Look at the all-time winning percentages, that is more indicative of who they call blue bloods. Pretty much every team that is considered a blue blood has 900+ wins and is top 10 all-time in winning percentage.

All of which have no bearing on today.

1.Ohio State(953-330-53).733
2.Alabama(952-335-43).732
3.Michigan(989-352-36).731
4.Notre Dame(937-335-42).729
5.Boise State(481-180-2).727
6.Oklahoma(934-337-53).725
7.Texas(936-389-33).701
8.USC(867-362-54).697
9.Penn State(919-406-42).688
10.Nebraska(912-417-40).681
11.Tennessee(866-410-53).672
12.Florida State(567-280-17).666
13.Georgia(866-428-54).662
14.Coastal Carolina(158-83-0).656
15.LSU(832-431-47).653
16.Appalachian State(654-352-28).646
17.Florida(754-437-40).629
18.Miami (FL)(648-383-19).626
19.Auburn(793-464-47).626
20.Georgia Southern(413-246-10

Next year. Michigan might be the first school in college football history to break 1000 wins. They will probably hold that distinction for at least 4 years.

FSU with 567 seems laughably low.

Winning percentage proves they are the devil

ETA: They haven't been playing football as long as most on that list. They are not a blueblood either. Same for Boise State.

I love how this gets thrown around not realizing that 2000 consists of damn near a quarter of the relevant college football seasons. We’ll be in the year 3000 and people will still say “we’ll they really didn’t get good until 2000”.

Pay attention man. That statement was in context of LSU not being considered a blue blood.

Still pissed we didn't take the 2020 invite.

That plus if we didn't miss out in 98 and 99 would have us at a clear fourth place.

yes I know it sounds crazy but if ever there was a time to fire a coach after a title it was then. No freakin way did anyone thing Orgeron would ever sustain that

Luckiest national championship coach of all time
