Great idea but probably won't happen. Personally, would love it. Give the NFL a big middle finger and help out the Tigers.

if Payton wanted to live in Les' house in exchange for running the offense LSU should make Miles allow it.

You're the type of guy that gets into a sports conversation at a bar and within the first minute, the entire group has no interest in talking to you anymore about sports.

How is he going to do with while under contract with the Saints? Well.....lets not bring logic into this.

you think Benson wouldn't allow him to work for LSU for a year and make some money since he's suspended anyway?

you realize company A who you have a contract with may also allow you to work for company B if they want correct?

Yeah, they could allow it, but they probably wont, and I don't see Les allowing his offense to be meddled with by anyone else but him

really don't see why Benson wouldn't let. Hell, it'd beat sitting around jacking it all day...

you got that right. He's too stubborn and prideful to let his own offensive coordinator call good plays, let alone someone else.

I brought this topic up at the gym today. The biggest argument against it was that the NFL would view it as circumventing their punishment and they'd get really pissed. They would figure out a way to punish the Saints.... sooner or later.

NFL couldn't do anything about it. Everyone has the right to work.

Les wouldn't allow it though because Sean wouldn't be running any short side option and bullshite like that.

Nailed it!

Kidding aside, it would be a big FU to the NFL for Payton to bounce really well from this. He could get tons of pub by going to the college game for a year and making some noise with a good team.

That and show Miles how to use the forward pass.

I doubt it. It would still be a temporary pay cut and demotion.

Hey, remember when Jerry Rice was going to be LSU's wide receiver coach? This sounds about as unrealistic as that.
