LOL at anyone that defended either miles or alleva all those years... it’s obvious it was a CF on and off the field. just think what could have been with all those players and some competent leadership.

That number was probably based on the number of years that said person didn't say anything.

I don’t understand “she saw the HB ....” statement....
This lady is the reason pretty much lsu initiated the HB investigation; so they could find out all that went on themselves. Lewis suing lsu has been known and this is not a new lawsuit, it’s just she’s officially now filed it in court or whatever.... ? I’m confused why everyone is acting shocked or like this is new....

That's probably what the recruits were telling him they wanted. Of course if some of the stuff that has been alleged is true, his own personal preferences may have been in play too.

Every one of these "hospitality" recruiting hostess groups at every school -- Alabama, Texas, Ohio State all included -- are the same. They're all pimped by their athletic departments, so that the football recruits can get laid (or think they were about to get laid) on their recruiting visit.

The girls aren't naive. They know what they're doing.

The person who runs the group knows, too. She hears all of the girls' stories, and what the girls tell her about what the recruits are saying. In LSU's case, Sharon was reporting back to Miles and telling him and the coaches everything she heard. Partners in crime, as it were. Sharon Lewis is definitely complicit, but that's her golden ticket.

Now that Lewis sees her neck is involved and that the school is going to be giving away real money, she is lining up to get her share. She won't get $50 million, but she'll get a nice going-away gift.

LSU has to pay it, of course, because think of all the damaging stories she could tell.

Most of this is going to be resolved by money. Nothing will ever get to court. A few people will take the fall for the Title IX mishandlings.

But none of them will be Orgeron. He's committed no crimes. And the fact that the 70-year-old security guard has her own representative trying to extort $100,000 from LSU puts a shady light on the woman's complaints, regardless of whether she ever actually talked to Ed or not.

In the end, it's a crappy little story all caused because LSU didn't want to lose Guice. They backed a bad horse.
The sad part is because they did support Guice and Miles, they were putting female students at risk. That's the real crime here. That's the question that athletic administrators and coaches have to ask themselves the next time one of their players is accused of sexual misconduct.

In what world does Sharon Lewis think her reputation and/or future earnings are worth $50 million. Maybe 500K.

Her salary is north of 130K per year, add in another 40% for health benefits and pension and we are at 185K, she probably won't be long for work so I would say 500K is extremely low. However, at 50M, her lawyer will get his cut and than after taxes she will probably net maybe 20M. Still high as squirrel nuts but not unfathomable.

Lewis lawyers going on Moscona's show this afternoon.
That tells you all you need to know about this lawsuit.
She wants her money and she will go away quietly.
If not, she will tell all.

That’s how I see this too. It’s looking more and more like a shakedown. She’s not fired. She was suspended but I doubt it was without pay. What exactly is being remedied by the 50 mil?

Which ultimately has nothing to do with whether or not LSU acted correctly.

It’s odd.

The angle is to protect herself at LSU as an employee. By filing the claim she dares LSU to fire her where they would be on the hook for a legitimate lawsuit in retaliation.

It appears she's playing chess not checkers that why she sued for $50 million.

quote:

Most people who sue their employers wait until they've left, but others choose to file the claim while still working at the offending company. ... What that means to employees is that their employers may not fire them for filing a claim against the employer, even if the employee loses the claim.

There’s always going to be two sides minimum to these cases, due to people lining up for a payday. Seems like every time people start getting paid the line gets long.

LSU shiteshow continues: Lewis suing LSU for $50 mill, Segar releases a statement about HB
Lewis will threaten recruiting violations

Exactly where this is headed. It does not matter the amount that Lewis sues for, settling for under 10 million will keep LSU out of the recruiting violations.

She knows way too much to let this go to court and will win anyways.

This is a very slippery slope with recruits and entertainment with hostesses [pretty girls] involved in recruiting. This is happening at every program with some taking it to a higher level. Signing a girlfriend of a star player to a volleyball scholarship, some of these hostesses get paid large sums of money to attract players to sign. Don't kid yourself that LSU is the only team to use this type of tool.

Best to settle with Lewis and keep things in house

The allegations of wire fraud, mail fraud and bribery, which are the predicate acts on which the civil RICO claim is based, are frivolous. Once Ms Lewis has to give a deposition and identify every act she claims constitutes such fraud and bribery and who did each one. I think it will become clear how frivolous this is. Ms. Lewis could not stand in front of the camera the other day? Just wait til she has to give a multi-day deposition. She thinks it's tough now? Put on your armor Ms. Lewis. You will need it. My guess is you never even read this conglomeration of false accusations filed in your name. If she had simply limited her case to Title IX she would have been much better off.

50 million? How do they sleep at night?!?!

No seriously. Can you imagine the level of bedding you can buy with that amount of money?
