Great, great hire. If you dont think so or if you dont know much about Orgeron, or if you just want to read a great book about recruiting, i strongly recommend the book Meat Market. great read about a guy travelling Orgeron around for a couple years and documenting the whole process

Although I was desperately seeking a departure from the Mallveto regime, I was willing to give Les the benefit of the doubt while making/allowing moves with the former employees and completing these new hires on defense. It seems ole Lesticles swung for the fence and hit a moon-shot. I will contain my excitement until an official announcement is made but this is shaping up to be one of the killer defensive staffs in the country.
Congrats Les on handling this extremely difficult situation with the utmost class - as we have come to expect from you!

Regarding the salary issue, I would say that it is perfect
Remember, Chavis was making 340k at TN and will be making 500k at LSU...I'm sure he's upset about that!

Just being brief right now ...
Ed Orgeron's legend as a recruiter started when he landed Shaun Rogers at USC after the Paul Hackett staff had been fired.
Coach O wasn't sure he had a job, USC's program was a shell of what it once was and Miami and Florida State were hauling in bluechip California recruits right and left.
Rogers' father told Coach O: "I'm a lifelong Notre Dame fan and I don't want you recruiting my son."
Through all this, Coach O convinced Rogers he could make him a high NFL draft pick.
Pete Carroll wisely retained EO.
Orgeron, as much as Pete Carroll, gets credit for USC's resurgence from a stale program fallen from glory back to a national powerhouse.

Wow, looks like the administration didn't like our mediocre season.
