always a fun tailgate when LSU is in Columbia

What are the rules on tailgating in the area and do people tailgate on campus, closer to the stadium, or both?

I know the stadium is off campus, so can you walk around with a drink at all or do you have to keep any drinking at your tailgate?

I'm staying at the Hampton Inn at Gervais and Lincoln Friday night so I can check out the scene on Saturday morning.

I’ll be in 16 as well. Sounds like 16 is the TD section.

Gee, I wonder which section of the stadium will run out of beer first.

alumni & fans not at all - students no doubt have the ways of maneuvering around campus past USC police and CPD -

closer to the stadium,
yes - from where you'll be on Gervais which is the Vista district full of restaurants/bars your best bet to get to W-B will be up Gervais turn right on Assembly and then follow it all the way to the stadium - Fairgrounds single game parking is sold out but there are countless private business lots that sell first-come parking - they'll be waving you in with flags and signs you can't miss them -

you can indeed walk anywhere around W-B with drinks - it's basically an outdoor party that happens to have a football game scheduled - Law Dog only cracks down on the fools who are belligerent or a safety risk - you'll see bev carts being pulled around everywhere and coolers on wheels in tow - cans tervis and solo cups preferred - but bottles are fine too -

Gamecock Park will be where everything's goin down - there are beer/food venders in Gamecock Village up front along Bluff Rd at the entrance of GP - but if y'all wanna walk around with a 12 pack or suitcase - you won't stand out at all - though I'd probably put a handle in a backpack and just fill your cup as needed -

much like Baton Rouge you''ll likely have some Gamecock tailgates talk a little shite and the give ya drinks/food - Fairgrounds will be a little more rowdy than Gamecock Park - which I believe is also sold out of prepaid parking - but is free to walk through and hang out any time - that's where ESPN will be and there's a stage up front with live music too -

no charcoal grills put propane is fine - USC owned parking opens at 6am - I'm sure the private business lots all over will be 6 or even earlier - parking could run anywhere from $40-70 depending on the locale -

have fun - hopefully it's a wild game -

bars around W-B -

yessir - if your coming in to W-B off 77 ...I'd suggest anywhere private pay lot from Bernie's Chicken on up Bluff to the stadium - it's just under a mile walk from Bernie's - there's plenty of parking up Shop Rd too off 77 -

SCHP will likely have all but 1 lane on Bluff headed to W-B prior and then reverse it post-game -

are you familiar with the Cambria Suites? I'm staying there Friday and Saturday night. It says less than a mile from the stadium, so I'm walking. What about bars, are there any within walking distance?

only Cambria I know of is on Lady St in the Vista/Downtown - which is ~ 2 miles from W-B ... you can grab a shuttle from Colonial Life Arena (hoops) a block away from you hotel that runs to W-B pre/post game - probably $10 each way??

think the closest hotel to the stadium in a property on Assembly called Gallus -

if you're in the Cambria on Lady St you will walk out the front door and be surrounded by everything from low key/music/dive (Tin Roof) to 5 star dining (Halls) -

I have 6 in section 1, row 20! Will be right above the visitor's entrance. It's nice to know USC fans who have a wedding to attend!

Sounds like I'm in a good place to party, and not so much to walk to the stadium....which works for me. Thanks.
