Now there's a surprise.
This game will be interesting for exactly 2 states and 2 fanbases.

3,750 standing room end zone spirit passes with a view of the video board for $50 each.

I spoke with the LSU ticket office. They said that all of the students who requested tickets got them. There was not much interest in standing room tickets. In fact, according to the students I have talked with at LSU, this game ins not generating that much interest. Having said that, the LSU fan base is one of the top three in the nation and they will show up.
So it took 8 pages of worthless crap to prove that I was indeed correct all along.
And staff, chop chop with the edit and apology.

to discuss whether or not "seats" that don't actually exist were returned.
That is correct.

Umm, I just got an email from LSU ticket office indicating that I could buy up to 2 SRO tickets since I was on the wait list and didn't get seats...so that's 2 that were not returned and going to an LSU fan!

Bull$hit. The LSU ticket office lied. The aTm AD is the all knowing authority.

why the hell would anyone want standing room only tickets to watch the cotton bowl against aTm????
this game really IS the super bowl for aggie, I guess.

I dunno what everyone else thinks, but I'm pumped about how this season is going. Having had mediocre football results since after my freshman year ('98 Big XII champs) I'm happy to see our program take a step back up.
Super Bowl? I dunno. Big game? Of course!
I'm hoping LSU's team doesn't share the same lame-arse sentiment some of the fans on here have exhibited. I want A&M to beat LSU at their best ... not slap around an apathetic gaggle infected with loser attitudes.
Not talking about all of you, or even most of you, but those of you that have exhibited the tone of the poster I've quoted.
To everyone else: Play ball!

As a hog fan-I would be very excited to play in the cotton bowl. Would I be acting like it's a BCS bowl? ehhh no. My point though is that there is a clear difference in the excitement factor over attending the cotton bowl between these teams. LSU is used to bigger & better.
I can't imagine many LSU fans pay for standing room only just for aTm in the cotton bowl. That's retarded.
I wouldn't as a fan of a program that has had lesser success than LSU-therefore I personally think for aTm fans to be excited about standing room only tickets for the cotton bowl is lame.

I paid for it because I'm taking my brother who doesn't ever really get a chance to make it down to BR from Shreveport to see a game, but since they weren't too much and he has off, I got them.
Even though I am kind of regretting it and wishing I would have paid $75/ticket more for a seat.

I was lucky and figured out A&M would be in the Cotton Bowl before word got out and was able to nab some tickets for ~$150 on StubHub. I'm in the first year of starting a business so $$$ are tight, but love Aggie Football and wouldn't miss this game unless I absolutely had to. That said, considering the price tag on tickets now ($350+) I'd gladly pay $50 for SRO just to be there and take in the atmosphere rather than sit at home and watch it on TV. That, in my opinion, is lame. Intelligent or not is debatable, but as a football fan it's lame.
Also - I didn't see you're a Hog fan. Your perspective makes a little more sense now.

I could take a crappy picture of Anna Kournikova with my cell phone but that wouldn't mean she's not hot... or do the SRO tickets come with blurvision?

Its a frozen frame of a youtube video...here's what you'll be enjoying for $50.

All you haterz out there who predicted that selling 30,000 standing room tickets for Cowboy games would turn their new stadium into a lawless Thunderdome? Yeah, you were completely right.
Roughly 29,999 of the 30,000 people who paid $29 to wander around Cowboys Stadium on Sunday night were left disappointed by the fact that crowded concourses, blocked access, and long bathroom lines meant they paid $29 for standing room tickets to a TV. Those were the lucky ones. Many folks didn't even get inside, because they were under the mistaken impression that a "ticket" gives you access to an event and not just access to the "plazas outside the party decks" which are not actually inside the stadium. Fine print!
As this video helpfully demonstrates, the vast majority of Party Pass holders only got a view of the other Party Pass holders. And naturally, the swarm of Texas-sized asses clogging the entrances, concourses, concessions and seats belonging to actual ticket holders created such chaos that the fire department gave up trying to control them and officially declared jungle law.

Wait!!! You're telling me that for the low low price of 50 bucks, I can stand for 4 hours in the stadium and watch the game on a big-screen TV. All this while enjoying $8 draft beer!
I wouldn't pay $50 dollars for those seats even if this was the National Championship game

haha ... luckily I'll be enjoying my seat in the 300s. Standing that far back in SRO doesn't look optimal. If I had SRO I'd make my way into that stadium as early as possible.
