It's pretty normal for a boss to call in a direct report to ask for his side of a story when an accusation comes out.
Especially one that can topple the boss, that boss's boss and an entire program.
What is he denying?

Wade is heard on the FBI wire tap stating that LSU had made an offer to a player and then suggesting that the player's verbal commitment had been delayed because a third party had not big "enough piece of the pie in the deal". I know if no recruiting practice that is in compliance with NCAA recruiting guidelines that permits a third party to receive ANYTHING in an offer to a recruit.
It seems to me that what was said on the taps is either a fireable offense or it's not. He hasn't been fired as far as I know.
If it's proven that this is all the NCAA has, nothing will happen to him. Then what purpose would a suspension have served?

The NCAA has requested to be a part of all interviews on this matter, #LSU says, and the words "institutional control" are key in the decision to suspend Wade. NCAA enforcement is on the ground here

Say no. The bottomline is our incompetent administration is making this situation worse with every move.
They suspended Wade while no ncaa investigation was ongoing even though if found guilty the season would be vacated anyway regardless of the Wade suspension. They invited the ncaa to campus. They want Wade to have the 1st conversation in front of the ncaa. The same ncaa that issues sanctions for buying a recruit a sandwich.
There is no way you can actually believe they handled this situation well.

once again, you completely missed my point.
I didn't miss it at all. You just made a bad point.

You don't need a courtroom for an employer to suspend or fire an employee who seems to be engaged in bad behavior.
You're using an actual crime to make your point. It's not the same.

What did you hear on the tapes that warranted a suspension?
That he immediately took the call from Dawkins, and they obviously knew each other. Dawkins is not a registered sports agent, and anyone in college basketball coaching would know he was involved with directing money from shoe companies to players, he didn't call to just discuss the weather.

If they go through with this and get rid of him, I’m done. This whole place is turning to hell. They have demolished any public interaction they have had. Alleva and co. have no backbone whatsoever
Its over. There is no coming back from this statement. They want fans to stop bashing the administration so they went scorched earth and basically said Wade is guilty and why hasnt he said he didnt do this. No way does Wade come back and coexist with this administration.

actically, as an employer, you would want to know the answers to the questions before dealing with a regulatory body. The answers then determine your posture in dealing with the regulatory agency.
To drag your employee into a meeting with a regulatory body present and where everyone hears it for the first time leads me to believe that the administration has already prejudged the outcome and is trying to firewall the connection between LSU and Wade. This tells me he is likely done.
Exactly.

Because the LSU administration is led by a moron
Posted on 3/14/19 at 3:33 pm to ProjectP2294
Bos fking and Alleva are shitting themselves that we will get the hammer due to LOIC. So instead they are offering Wade up like a sacrificial Lamb to the the all knowing power, NCAA!

Louisiana politics has been an embarrassingly ignorant clown show for at least a century, and Louisiana politics has its tentacles so deeply entwined in the LSU administration and LSU athletics that LSU is just a reflection of the larger imbecility. Other states have universities in which politicians are too intimately involved. But no other state has politicians who are both as stupid as ours and too ignorant to know how stupid they are.

Any offer of any sort of extra benefits, regardless of whether it's monetary or not, is illegal. He's on tape talking to a middle man that he claimed he had no relationship with. I don't know why we'd believe him on this one.
Again, nobody denies that our players got paid. They did. But so did our star football players and so did everyone else’s star players in college athletics.
Nobody here is stupid enough to believe that we aren’t playing players.
But that’s not what’s on the tape (as far as we know). All we know is the he said Smart was given “a strong arse offer”. Well what does he mean exactly by “strong arse offer”? I’m sure you believe it means money. Most of us believe that’s exactly what he’s talking about. But it’s irrelevant what we believe he is talking about. The “strong arse offer” could very well mean money. But it could also mean “I guarantee you a championship” or “I guarantee you will be balls deep in all the sorority poon you can handle”. Neither of those would be breaking ANY NCAA rules.

Then why hasn’t Wade been indicted?

You don't think based on the recording we've heard that you're stretching the definition of "not doing business" together a bit to hide? At the very least he discussed doing business with the guy. Given the fact that they were mulling over offers to different recruits I'd say that it takes a lot of faith to believe they've never done business together. The NCAA doesn't have that kind of faith and LSU knows it.
It doesn’t matter what you believe. You still have to prove it.

Everyone forgets this is still America! We are supposed to be different. We are supposed to consider a man innocent until proven guilty. The NCAA and LSU have no evidence that would stand up in a court of law. Vaugue statements are not proof!! Instead they want Will to self incriminate himself by making him testify against himself. This is also something that our system of justice says cannot be mandated that a defendant does not have to take the stand in his own defense.
This is reason for them to suspend Will? No, their shoddy, disrespectful and illegal behavior if it were a court of law should be enough to fire them or at least make them apologize and put the man back in his position until after the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA is one of the worst organizations in America. They stand for one thing only - GREED!! Pretend you have students who oh by the way are very good at a sport, without admitting that they are an entertainment business who makes billions off of sport and everyone benefits except for the employees who actually do the work. What a bunch of hypocrites whom, if they looked in a mirror, would see a very ugly image looking back at them!

Any decent lawyer would frick you sideways if you got on the stand and said “Basedon this tape, Will Wade paid players”.
What part of “IT’S frickING IRRELEVANT WHAT WE BELIEVE HE WAS TALKING ABOUT” do you not understand? What you believe would NEVER hold up in court or in an NCAA investigation. If all you needed was “what I believe” then Ole Miss would have gotten the death penalty. Do you believe all those star athletes got was $35,000 worth of goods and services?
Stop going off of “well I know players get paid so that’s definitely what’s going on here”. You have YET to prove it.

If will Wade was talking about "poon" he would vehemently deny this publicly, he wouldnt be afraid to meet with anyone, and he'd be coaching LSU tomorrow in Nashville. You idiots that need everything spelled out for you are the worst
