They will not force a No. 1 seed to play in a No. 4 seed’s back yard. That is what you are missing.

Don’t sleep on Utah. They’re pretty good and can beat Oregon.

Ok, since i’m apparently missing a ton,, and you know an awful lot- how do they determine the criteria for proximity? Like, Athens isnt far from Atlanta, but if the playoff were in NOLA this year, would they make LSU and Georgia play in AZ since BR is a little over an hour from NOLA? I’m genuinely curious.

I don’t think they would put LSU UGA playing back to back games. They would put us 2 or UGA 3. I don’t see a 2 loss UGA @4, if we run the table.

One thing i don’t understand.. on the CFP show just now on espn, they showed bowl projections that had “#1 LSU vs #4 Georgia” playing in the playoff game at the Fiesta Bowl in AZ... It’s been my understanding that the #1 seed plays in the playoff game geographically closest to the school- in our case, the Peach Bowl, not Fiesta.. what am I missing?

Are you sure that they weren't just showing the top 4 teams and not a prediction of who plays who? I don't see any way that UGA holds on to the #4 spot if we beat them in the SECCG. If they beat us, they will likely move up to #3, which would pair them with #2 Clemson. We would get #1 Ohio State, probably in Atlanta since it's geographically closer to Columbus, OH than Glendale, AZ is.

This. That's the way it's gonna be.

Id much rather play Oregon or Utah than georgia twice. I think if we win secc, then the pack 12 winner or oklahoma jumps bama for the 4.

The whole country wants to see LSU vs OSU. If it looks like OSU is getting outplayed, the refs will help prevent a loss...ala Bama in previous years. That didn’t happen this year bc the SEC is now riding LSUs dick into the playoffs.

If it were truly that simple of a fix don’t you think O would force Aranda to do what you said? O is well aware of what schemes they are running well before the games so he obviously either agrees with it or suggests to run it.

Yeah I’m positive.. i tuned in too late to hear their rationale for it, i just saw the pairings (with rankings) and which specific bowl games they were projecting.

Well i mean, what is the criteria thy use to determine “too close” geographically? An hour away? two hours? 100 miles? Or do they use the dreaded “eyeball test” when looking at the map and figuring out what is too close?

So is there any scenario where we have to play the Gumps again?

The human element will setup Burrow vs Hebert should Ducks get in and a final Burrow vs OSU. The storyline matters
