Be interesting to see where they project us after this weekend. Georgia was a top 8. We were the highest rated 2 seed. Some of the top 16 had a bad week.

What’s the latest on Dugas?

I’m not sure on the latest but he was running around and celebrating with the team after Cade’s walkoff. Hopefully he’s close to coming back.

Not really sure where he plays when/if he comes back. DH against left handed pitching? Looks as if Stevenson and Pearson are locked In on the corner outfield spots.

I like Stevenson a lot, but just think if Dugas is healthy you need his bat and Joberts in the lineup.
Pearson absolutely needs to be in the lineup and has AA potential in his future years.

#16 RPI and only sixth-best in the SEC. League is stacked!

Tied for third in the SEC and in the #14-23 range in all these polls/metrics. We have ourselves in position to host a regional.

If we win all 3 weekend series we'll for sure host, but I don't think 5-4 guarantees a host bid like I keep seeing all these posters say though.

eta:
#8 in ELO rankings... WarrenNolan predicts us to finish 18-12 with a #8 RPI too.
ELO Rankings

6-3 with a championship in Hoover and we can discuss a national seed.

Think I noticed some type of bracing on his wrist/hand while celebrating. So who knows if he will be back and when. Milazzo was also hopping around and celebrating. So might be able to see him back soon.

As far as both of them playing, I think Dugas will be back in LF as soon as he is healthy. Stevenson is a ball player and is playing well but to make a run I think Dugas has to get healthy and play like he did last year at the plate. That will be tough after missing as much time as he has in SEC play though. Milazzo and the catcher position is the tricky one. McManus is hitting well enough to stay in the lineup and doing good enough behind the plate.

Both of those guys are playing at a higher level that Dugas has played at any point this year.

Now, compared to end of last year? That's the question. I think Dugas better get back and start producing in a big way quick because both of those guys are producing against SEC competition.

I love Stevenson and Pearson, but this is just not true.

Pearson and Dugas have nearly identical stats, and that's with Dugas playing injured for 2 weeks and sick for another.

Stevenson is playing well in the field but his bat isn't close to Dugas.

I think LSU is a top 15 team at this point. There’s 4 or 5 SEC games we could’ve easily won but shite the bed in. Win those and we're looking at a national seed instead of fighting to host a regional. All that matters is getting hot at the right time though. The pieces are coming together to make a strong run. The next few weeks should be very exciting.

Haha what fricking games have you been watching? Stevenson needs to sit for the rest of the year.

They'll catch up. At the moment, they're working on a story about how great it is to teach our 5 year olds how wonderful it is to cross-dress.

These things are pretty easy to verify.

Dugas: .295 BA, .958 OPS, .487 SLG
Stevenson: .231 BA, .769 OPS, .385 SLG.

Dugas replaces Stevenson if he's healthy. Stevenson gives you a defensive replacement late in games if necessary and a decent bat off the bench in a PH situation.

Here are the players' numbers right now

Dugas (27 games, 25 starts) .295/.487/.471 78 ABs, 3 HRs, 6 3Bs, 20 RBIs

Pearson (32 games, 16 starts) .300/.543/.419 70 ABs, 4 HRs, 5 2Bs, 16 RBis

Stevenson (27 games, 9 starts) .231/.385/.385 39 ABs, 1 HR, 3 2Bs, 6 RBIs

There may be an argument that Pearson's play the past couple of weeks is better than Dugas' best 2 week stretch this year, but that's about as far as it goes. At best. In no universe has Stevenson played better than Dugas, even this year's Dugas.
