That was last year. Every year a new year but Alabama always fields a top ten team. Never a lack of resources and talent.

Texas A&M will prove to be much higher in rankings.

Would swap out Michigan and Ohio State to be ranked below Alabama and LSU. Top 3 would be Georgia, Alabama, LSU

Bama weaker team drops to #3. Otherwise, #1

Stewart, Smith, and Achane are legit weapons.
Yea man maybe Achane can take some time off of playing for the Dolphins and go be a weapon at Texas A&M for another game or two

The only circumstance in which I hate preseason rankings is where a team is artificially ranked high, plays a weak arse schedule, such that they are able to ride that all season long. If they happen to beat another ranked team (including other artificially high ones) they get even more attention as a top team. Thank god for SOS influence in the later season rankings, in whatever form it exists.

Texas has to go on the field and proof it as they historically lately have underachieved. I will say they have a boatload of talent if they ewers kid takes the step he’s suppose to take with his talent level they gonna be a rlly hard offense to stop who can give bama issues week 2

Kinda surprised to see A&M ranked that low (25). They've got a lot of guys back, and that offense should be very good. Now the Jimbo and Bobby show could derail the whole thing, but on paper they're better than 25.
They should have went 4-8 and everyone said they were a joke. Now we are saying they will very good? I was told their recruiting class didn’t help

5. LSU
23. Tulane
In any case, the Slimers need to be back on the schedule, replacing one of Morial's (Ausberry) yearly three In-State/Out of State "Sisters of the Poor" schools. (Grambling, Army and Georgia State in 2023)

Every season with a 9 game SEC schedule: Tulane, SWAC/HBCU school (For the Band) and 1 Top 20 Non-SEC school.
Every season with an 8 game SEC schedule: Tulane, SWAC/HBCU school, 1 Top 20 Non-SEC school, 1 "Great Band" school. (Jacksonville State, Troy State, Southern Mississippi)

Kind of surprised to see Michigan rated that high.
Michigan returns a starting QB with significant experience and 15 total starters.
FSU has 17 returning starters and Travis at QB.
LSU has 15 and Daniels.
1st game will be a tough matchup.

They have been the most consistently great program over the last 15 years. If any other team based SOLELY on objective basis they probably wouldn't be ranked 3rd. However, begrudgingly, they have earned the benefit of the doubt. Which is what the No. 3 ranking shows. LSU was ranked No. 6 in 2008. No. 1 in 2012, and No. 5 in 2020...despite losing a ton of key players from the previous year's great team. LSU was given the benefit of the doubt then too.
I get it, but this ranking shouldn't be about the last 15 years and nobody should get the benefit of the doubt. It should be a completely neutral ranking.
Plus, even with the benefit of the doubt, Bama at 3 is still too high considering what they're lacking/lost. Specifically at QB/skill position. It's just a completely idiotic and biased ranking.

Kind of surprised to see Michigan rated that high.

They no longer have the benefit of the doubt. They have to prove it or move on from Jimbo.
