Excellent post. Thanks for the hard work.

Looks like Jefferson is having a good year with only one pic and 4.07 net yards per carry.

Bayou, if you remember passes thrown by Booty were often dropped, very often dropped. When his competition was QBing, the same receivers would make incredible catches.

Russel, Davey, and Tyler are clearly the top three LSU QBs after the Dark Age of Archer and Hallman.

I agree. I'll take Flynn after those 3.

Really? Booty was a horrible QB, end of story.

I'll put Mauck ahead of Tyler. There is one thing that chart does NOT show and it is LEADERSHIP and getting the guys to play. Mauck had it in spades and Mauck was more clutch.

From my own memory of these QBs, I'd say JR was the best although it seems he had a fumbling issue...could be my imagination.

I'd put Rohan right below him. Tyler was great for that style of offense.

I'd put Flynn ahead of Mauck. Honestly, Mauck scared me against any team with a decent defense. The defense bailed out Mauck, while Flynn's offense usually bailed out the defense.

and yeah Booty was not good and Rohan was shafted. Lsu would've had better 2000 season if Rohan took all the snaps.

I'd take any of those over JJ or JL except Booty. I might take Booty over Randall...not sure.

I remember when Rohan was recruited out of the Miami area. He was supposed to be a good QB. I don't think we really got to see how much he could really do except in 2001 when Saban opened the playbook after Eli beat him at home. I believe Ro got the shaft. Wish we could have seen more.
Randall was good also. He wasn't awesome but we would have won the cotton Bowl in 2004 had he not got hurt. That would have been nice to see Simms and Texas get punched in the mouth.

Yup. Saban finally allowed the offense to throw and it was like a light went on. Rohan's career was too short. He shouldve stepped in after herb but Booty was the next big thing who got way more opportunity than he merited.

Yeah, I was there in 01'. Saban got conservative and Eli promptly scored before half time. They should have listened to Hal Hunter when he started Ro for the Arkansas game in 98'. It would have been fun to be there for that.

I just hope they can improve QB play next year. No sense in signing these atheletes only to let them get lost in the "shuffle".

I will give Booty credit. MSU game was a big game when Ro got hurt. Booty played well, didn't pout cuz he was benched but came back in MSU and led the team to an upset.

I'd take Mauck over Flynn 10 times out of 10.

I'm not knocking Booty. He was good enough to start. He also won games for LSU. It also seemed to me that there were a bunch of dropped passes too. I thought it was a little odd that the right tackle, I believe it was Paris, suddenly recovered from an "injury" to play the second half of the Peach Bowl when it was known that Davey was going to replace Booty for the rest of the game. Maybe I'm wrong but it sure seems odd to me.

They were similar but Flynn just seemed better. I think of the offenses in 2003 and 2007 and how each performed in the biggest games.

Why would you use a TEAM accomplishment when measuring qbs?

Booty: showed that daddy at every practice can still influence coaching decisions... even on the college level.

Mauck had more time to start. If Flynn had had another half a season under his belt, I'm sure we would've seen a difference in his play.

To tell you the truth, I'd take either one over the QB's available this year. They were proven leaders for their teams.

CLEARLY! If you can't admit this, you're lying to yourself or an idiot or something worse.

Of course. Anyone would.

Dunno if I'd want Booty or Randall though. maybe Randall. That's tough. Randall seemed like a good guy but just inconsistent.
