Surprised they didn’t wait for pregame of UTSA or something, but then again with Covid everything is different. Good for the players regardless, they worked their butts off, they deserve it and a lot more

You dont want to do that at a game. Too many opportunities to lose it. "Yeag ill just keep this under the bench during the game." Some type of private ceremony would be best.

Football is different. They have a ceremony. Not pregame

200+ people are getting rings and 30+ players have gone on to the NFL/graduated. Can’t do it before a game. Get the rings now, raise the flag vs UTSA and then close the book and go repeat.

Is the one in front the 07 ring? Meaning they aren't actually showing the 19 ring.

nvm, just got confirmation thats the 07 ring.

You don't think the school/team would have some option to keep the rings securely in the locker room or elsewhere during the game?

Championship ring ceremonies are almost never private. I don't think the players are expected to secure their ring for the day under the bench or in the dugout.

So John Robinson received two Collegiate Football National Championship rings 40 years apart!

That would have to be some kind of record, no?

There are probably a handful of support staff members across the country that have been at a program long enough to claim. Not many though.

They were discussing on the radio today that they are actually getting 4 rings (at least per the hosts) One for the SEC championship; One for winning the Peach Bowl; One from the NCAA for winning the National Title; One from LSU for (presumably) all of the accomplishments. That seems to be a bit unnecessary and kind of a byproduct of the "travel ball" era where "championship" rings are given out for menial accomplishments. It feels like there should only be one ring for ONE champion. That would seemingly make it even more special. If you want to give guys a trophy for winning the conference, that's fine. But, IMO, there should only be ONE team that gets championship rings

I'd say one ring for SEC champions (that's a big accomplishment itself), and one for the National title.
