I don't miss any coaches, good or bad. They can be bought and sold. It's all about the program and the players for me.
I just find it funny how people are trying to rationalize this. There's no reason to. LSU will be fine.

He'll be missed. Truly.
The key is to not miss him THAT much. If the Staff can get the reluctant players on board this is an opportunity.

Comparing Chavis to Saban is really reaching.

I don't think throwing the coach under the bus will not do LSU any good.

I think we'll see much more of a rotation with the D line with the new DC
really looking forward to having a coach on the sidelines again

It'd be nice for a DC to be on the sidelines to pump up our players and not be a lard arse in the booth
This, it made me so mad to see when things are going bad on D him seating up in the coaches box. In moments like that you need your DC on the sidelines firing the players up, and congratulating them after a big stop.

I agree. We're acting like the jilted girlfriend right now. It needs to stop. Let him go. Don't rationalize it by saying he was bad for LSU. Because he wasn't. We'll be fine, regardless.

I didn't even think the guy talked...don't think I've ever heard him speak.

Sounds like Nick Saban. You are right. Saban is a terrible coach!
Bill Walsh didn't say much at all. He wasn't a coach who yelled much. Yeah, he was terrible too.

It's a good point. I heard him twice. Once when they hired him and then at an espn trophy ceremony where he won something in 2011.

Playing a base 4-3 with great talent is smart.
If talent doesn't match then look at 2013.
LSU will be stacked next year so let's be optimistic. A shakeup could be what we need on defense.

One of the greatest coaches in college history even alluded to the fact players respond to motivational tactics differently. Yell at some they go into a shell, yell at others they get pissed and play harder. Some you must put your arm around and they will die for you. This is a paraphrase of arguably the greatest college coach in history in any sport. His name was John Wooden.
